Today we’d like to introduce you to David Choute.
Hi David, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started in 2018 with a desire to document people and moments in a way that felt honest and authentic. Like a lot of photographers, I started by photographing anyone who would give me the opportunity. I spent years shooting portraits, nightlife, community events, fashion, and cultural moments using every assignment to sharpen my eye.
As my career has grown, I’ve had the opportunity to photograph artists, public figures, brand activations, and major events. A large part of my growth came from nightlife and live events where I photographed artists, concerts and fast paced environments. Those experiences strengthened my storytelling and taught me how to anticipate moments under pressure.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many creatives, I’ve had to balance building my portfolio with working other jobs, funding my own equipment and earning trust in a highly competitive industry. There has been set backs and moments of burnout but every challenge has pushed me to refine my craft, stay consistent, and continue to create meaningful work.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in editorial, event, nightlife, and portrait photography with a focus on documenting culture as it happens. I’m known for creating images that feel authentic, cinematic, and timeless while capturing genuine moments in fast paced environments.
What am I proud of most is my ability to adapt to almost every setting from intimate portraits to crowded concerts and large scale events without losing the story.
I believe what sets me apart is my commitment to creating and getting the shot. No matter the obstacle or terrain, my mindset is, “I’m leaving here with something”. Whether in a crowded pit or limited access backstage, I’m committed to getting the shot.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I hope my work encourages people to slow down and appreciate the stories behind the images. At the end of the day I want my photographs to preserve moments, celebrate culture, and leave behind something that still has meaning long after it’s taken.
