Life & Work with Dr. Ollie of Dallas-Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Ollie.

Hi Dr. , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Greetings my name is Dr Ollie and I have currently been based in DFW area seven years, I have been known to wear multiple hats, but the one that I am most known for is a Filmaker I’ve been working in Film production for the last 10 years.

I started out by shooting short films and from shooting the short films went into future length Films I’ve been doing this ever since the pandemic. Currently I am working on my 10th Film as of now and I have had quite a bit of success with it, which has allowed me to continue to keep moving forward. I also am the author of two books. My most well-known is entitled Anyone can make it to the top, but I have a new book that is coming, which would be entitled Trading my mess for success. It is currently in the works now and is looking to be released in the year of 2027.

I have had the opportunity to share the platform with so many well-known individuals such as Steve Harvey, Jennifer Hudson, Bishop, T.D. Jakes, Spike, Lee, Dr. Phil and so many more within the next couple of months I have a major master class we are producing which will take place here in Dallas, Texas and I have so many special guests that are very well known to come and be a part of it.

I never knew I would be at this place in life when I was younger if I looked back 10 years ago, if you would’ve told me that my life was going to go in this direction, I would have been amazed and surprised at everything that would be taking place in that 10 year span but I’m so thankful and grateful that this has happened to me and the best is definitely yet to come.

I always tell people do as much as you can while you can because time waits on no one, but one thing I would like to say is I have one chapter in my book that talks about goals and my acronym I used for it is getting organized and living successful talks a lot about goals and organization because I really feel like with those things you can be able to make anything happen.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I would have to say it has not been a smooth road for me mostly because of the fact choosing the pathway of going into film production is not an easy task, especially when you have to prove yourself to so many before they will trust you to be able to do anything from having a project to go on a network to getting the funds to be able to produce the next one there’s so much that goes into place to make this happen and by me being the Writer Director and Producer of all my projects it has definitely had their fair share of bumps curves and so much more but overall, I have definitely been able to stand the test of time to show that I have what it takes to keep going and continuing to be resilient.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
When you ask what I do, I would like to start at the top and share that I am classified as a director for my projects, but I’d like to be looked at as a creator before that because everything that I do, it starts with my mind first with creating a concept and then taking the concept and putting it on paper and from putting it on paper, then it goes to the screen so within just a matter of months whatever I vision goes from my mind to the script then to the screen. I am most known for producing fast content, and just as soon as something drops, we are ready to be begin on another project and go into production for it and using normally the same turnaround time to bring it out as well. The thing I am most proud of now is the fact that I see a lot of people quitting and giving up when it comes down to producing work, but for me, I have been able to stand the test of time and not only produce the work but produce quality work that you can be able to find on major streaming platforms such as Amazon prime, Tubi, Apple TV and so many more and that is something truly to be proud of in this day and time. This is also the thing that I feel sets me apart from others because if you take what I do and compare it to, so many other Filmmakers, you will be able to see the differences and it is very similar to a comparison of cars. A Honda and a Mercedes they both be able to get you where you’re going, but the ride is going to feel different because of the type of vehicle and the quality they both are.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson that I have learned along, my journey has been no matter what keep going because you may be closer than what you think I’ve had multiple times to feel like quitting and I push my way anyways and I was glad I did because on the other side I had so much to be thankful and proud of when I looked back on the situation for if I would have chosen to quit or stop at that particular time, then I may not would’ve been able to set an example or to help someone else that would have been feeling like doing the same thing.
