Today we’d like to introduce you to Queenet Iwu.
Hi Queenet, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey has been one of self-discovery, healing, reinvention, and resilience. I have learned that you do not always realize how strong you are until life stretches you beyond what you thought you could carry. Looking back, I am grateful for everything I have experienced because it has shaped the woman, healthcare provider, and business owner I am today.
I was born in Nigeria, where I witnessed poverty and grew up understanding the United States as a land of opportunity; a place where you could make something of yourself if you had the discipline and courage to pursue it. That mindset never left me. It is part of the story how I ventured into entrepreneurship.
My entrepreneurial spirit and love for the beauty industry began early. At 11 years old, I learned to braid my own hair and soon earned money braiding for others. That early interest in beauty later expanded into skincare when I began struggling with acne and hyperpigmentation. Inspired by older women who aged well, I became interested in anti-aging products, although many were outside my budget. I eventually discovered the Mary Kay TimeWise skincare line and used it throughout college. Since then, I have continued investing in my skin, eventually transitioning to medical-grade products recommended by my dermatologist. While this improved both my skin and confidence, it did not completely eliminate my feelings of inadequacy.
That is because beauty is not only about what is on the outside; it also comes from within. You can invest in skincare products, aesthetic treatments, or even a facelift, but those things alone cannot change how you feel about yourself. That is what I have learned through my own journey, and it is a lesson I share with every client who sits in my chair.
A major turning point in my life occurred last year when I realize the life I was living working as a pediatric nurse practitioner in the hospital system was not healthy for me. The heavy workload, variable work hours, and toxicity of the workspace was not the life I envisioned for myself. From facing rejection, workplace bullying, shrinking myself, and feeling as though I constantly had to do more to prove that I was worthy of being there, I found myself overwhelmed and burnt out. It was then I realized, there was nothing I can do or will do to ever be enough, so I left. This was one of the best decisions in my life because for the first time I chose to put myself first.
A year ago, I took a leap of faith and pursued a vision God placed in my heart four years ago. That vision became deeply personal it became my ministry. Aura Vitale gives me a platform to share my story, make a difference, and help others feel confident, all within a peaceful space where I can serve without losing myself. Aura represents the energy we carry and how we show up in the world, while Vitale means renewed, refreshed, and alive. I feel fortunate to use my gift of artistry to enhance my clients’ features. Whether I am guiding them in caring for their skin or helping them look refreshed, my goal is to help them look and feel good. When you look good, you feel good, and that confidence influences how you show up in the world and stand up for yourself.
Entrepreneurship has required me not only to build a business but also to confront those beliefs and become comfortable allowing myself to be seen. I believe I was made to shine and super excited for where this journey is going to take me.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. When I first started, I was excited and proud of myself for taking the steps to bring my vision to life. What I did not fully anticipate was the weight of managing the everyday operations of a business.
As a small-business owner, I am the provider, but I often also serve as the office manager, marketer, content creator, scheduler, financial planner, and everything in between. Balancing those responsibilities with my clinical career, family, friendships, and commitment to maintaining a healthy lifestyle can sometimes feel overwhelming. There have been moments when I questioned myself, my decisions, and why I chose such a challenging path.
During those moments, I remind myself of everything I have already overcome and lean heavily on my faith in God. One thing faith has taught me is that it is not passive. You must continue showing up as the person you believe you are called to become, even when you cannot yet see the results. I have learned to trust that the rest will align in time. Building something meaningful takes patience—it is a marathon, not a sprint.
Another challenge within the beauty industry is comparison. It is easy to look at people who have already reached a certain level of success and compare their progress to your own. We often see the beautiful spaces, full schedules, accomplishments, and glamour, but we do not see the years of hard work, sacrifice, uncertainty, and self-doubt that came before them.
I am learning to allow other people’s success to inspire and teach me instead of making me question my own progress. I am grateful to God for the community and mentors he has placed around me. I have learned so much by observing them, asking questions, and having honest conversations about what it truly takes to build a sustainable business.
One of my greatest lessons has been that passion alone is not enough. Building a strong business requires effective systems, consistency, patience, and the humility to recognize when you need help. Asking for guidance is not a sign of weakness; it is part of becoming a better leader.
I am still learning, refining my systems, and growing into the business owner I want to become. The road has not always been easy, but every challenge has strengthened my faith, resilience, and self-awareness. I may not have every answer yet, but I will continue to show up, remain teachable, and move forward with purpose.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Aura Vitale Med Spa?
Aura Vitale Med Spa is a luxury aesthetics clinic in Arlington, Texas, offering wrinkle relaxers, hyaluronic acid based fillers, collagen-stimulating treatments, and wellness injections. Our goal is to help clients look refreshed and feel confident, not overdone; Beauty that still feels like you.
As a board-certified nurse practitioner with formal training in aesthetics and more than 12 years of healthcare experience spanning pediatric and adult care, I specialize in facial balancing and individualized treatment planning. My years of assessing patients and developing treatment plans now influence how I approach aesthetics.
Every new client begins with our Aura Signature Consultation. During this visit, I listen to their concerns, assess their facial features and skin, and develop a personalized plan based on their goals. Clients do not need to arrive knowing exactly which treatment to request. It is my responsibility as their provider to assess, educate, and recommend what may benefit them. They can trust that my recommendations will always come from a place of honesty and sincerity rather than pressure or trends.
What sets Aura Vitale apart is the personal connection I build with my clients. I understand what it feels like to want to enhance something about yourself while worrying about how others may judge you. I want clients to know that caring for themselves is not vanity and that they do not have to apologize for making choices that help them feel confident. My treatment room is a safe, judgment-free space where clients can be heard, ask questions, and make informed decisions.
I am most proud of the genuine relationships I have developed with my clients and the trust they place in me. Being trusted with someone’s face is a responsibility I do not take lightly. I am also grateful for the mentors and supportive community I have found within aesthetics. I continue to learn, improve my systems, and grow into the kind of provider and business owner I aspire to be.
Our current services include neurotoxins, hyaluronic acid fillers, collagen-stimulating injectables, SkinPen microneedling, chemical peels, and B12 wellness injections. I anticipate expanding our service line thoughtfully over the next several months, but the heart of Aura Vitale will remain the same: honest guidance, personalized care, and natural-looking results that help each client feel like the best version of themselves.
What makes you happy?
I am happiest when my life has room for freedom, connection, movement, and growth. Having autonomy and flexibility over my time allows me to do the things I love, including serving others, spending meaningful time with family and friends, traveling, and experiencing different cultures.
I also enjoy staying physically fit and challenging myself through different sports and activities. Learning something new, whether through developing a skill or reading a book. These experiences fill my cup, keep me grounded, and inspire me to become a better version of myself every day.
