Hi Toben, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Grew up as a first generation Nigerian in Dallas, TX. First and only athlete of my family. Played collegiate and professional football. Went from sports to sales career and now also a multi franchise business owner. Part podcast host. Passionate about helping athletes transition into next phases of their life.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Money struggles. Mental health struggles. Identity struggles. Questioning people around me.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I work in medical aesthetics. Very people that look like me on my side or on the provider side. It’s a side quest of mine to expand aesthetics and wellness to people that look like me that often wait too long to do some of these things. I’m extremely proud of getting in my position but also being able to pass the torch and string others along.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was the kid who did well in school, was never bad enough to get in serious trouble, but always was a little mischievous. I just liked to have fun however that looked. Sports were always a big deal to me but most of my friends could mistake me for a DJ or a musician on any given day.
