Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Cowan.
Hi Paige, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
If you would have asked me five years ago if I would have thought this is where I would be—crazy about donkeys, I probably would have laughed at you. My mom is actually the one that heard about our original trio, Sarah Connor, John Wick, and Jack Reacher. They were in need of a home, and we said yes. When we decided we wanted to share them with others and start our mini donkey server business, we knew we wanted a fourth to round out our little pack. Penny Lane is our fourth and smallest, but perhaps, mightiest mini donkey. They are genuinely so much fun to take to events. They get to meet new people and everyone is always so excited to see them.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No business ever runs smoothly 100% of the time. One of the biggest challenges, was being the new kid in town, so to speak, when we first started up. I think that’s true for any new business, but we’ve been so fortunate to meet so many great people along the way.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Our adorable mini donkeys go out to parties and celebrations of all kinds. They go out in pairs because they are social animals and enjoy the buddy system. They also dress to impress. I coordinate their “outfits” to complement any theme or color scheme. We are TABC certified to serve alcohol, but serve drinks and treats of all varieties. We definitely serve so much more than drinks!
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Honestly, I just try to be a memorable part of the guest experience and enjoyment. Sometimes people have seen us before, but we are always introducing new groups of people to this unique experience.
