Daily Inspiration: Meet Nicole Dixon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Dixon.

Hi Nicole , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always loved being in the kitchen, in fact some of my earliest memories are with my dad in the kitchen, standing up in a chair so I could see over the stove and watching him cook and “assisting” as best a 4 year old could.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Oh no!!! I’ve encountered lots of bumps along the way, people who didn’t keep their word, gate kept information, not enough money to fund the vision, days of not making ANY sales , doubting myself, people who don’t see your vision or question why would you want to feed people or start a business, you know all the things!!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a DFW based food entrepreneur and caterer, who specializes in original recipe items, delicious food all around spanning multiple cuisines, providing delicious palette pleasing experiences with every bite! My passion shows thru my work and delicious food.
I’m most proud of being a 2x quarter finalist in Karla Hall’s Favorite Chef competition. I’m known for making stomachs happy and one of the things that set me apart are my absolutely delicious, original recipe deep fried cheeseballs and jalapeno poppers!! Oh!! And don’t forget the drinks and cheesecakes #Chefs Kiss

What are your plans for the future?
I’m looking forward to making stomachs happy across the DFW with my delicious food, and planning to keep going and grow my business from it’s current location at The Mix Kitchen located inside WhiteRock United Methodist Church and opening a food trailer so I can make stomachs happy everywhere I go!
