Today we’d like to introduce you to Joe Grisham and Janet Healey.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Joe: I’m a photographer and Janet’s an Art Director, We we’re looking for project ideas and something interesting to add to our portfolio when we met the head of JRT rescue. She needed help finding homes for abandoned jack Russell’s and us LOVE Jack Russell’s so we offered to shoot photos to publicize her efforts. We were very happy with the results, made greeting cards for them to sell at rescue events and some very large prints for a gallery show.
Janet: Other rescue groups like Greyhound & Weimaraner rescue wanted us to do the same thing for them and it all snowballed from there! Now we have a national stationery line that celebrates rescue.
Please tell us about your art.
Photography of rescue dogs on greeting cards. We wanted to use our talents developed in advertising to make a difference in the way people looked at throwaway dogs. Sharing our cards is a great way to champion abandoned animals and spread the word about the importance of pet adoption.
We often hear from artists that being an artist can be lonely. Any advice for those looking to connect with other artists?
Good question!
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
