Today we’d like to introduce you to Wright Art Twins.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Wright Art Twins represents Princeton and Preston Wright. We collaborate on every piece together. We are twins from Dallas Texas. Life was not handed to us easily, especially not in the art world. We started getting featured in shows a couple years back. Although we were getting featured in a lot of shows it was still something missing; which was us not yet having our first solo art show. The opportunity was never presented and it was just something that didn’t come around often for artists and especially artists that may be considered an underground artist. Experiencing this, we took the intuitive to find a way to put together and host our own show. A couple of months later in 2016 we did! After our first solo art show we then hosted our own shows two more times which grow each time. We paid for everything and did our own marketing. Toward the end of 2016 we were trying to figure out what we can do to help the art community. What we came up with was a project that we named Wright Art Twins Experience to sponsor any and every artist first solo art show; only for artists that have not yet had their first solo art show. We cover venue cost, food, and drinks. This project became big and grow fast. Within a blink of an eye we were sponsoring over 50 artists first solo art show in the Dallas Texas area. This project has giving hope and is creating a lane to success for up and coming artists. We strive to help each individual realize that if there’s no opportunity given, create your own! This is what our art work stands for. We’ve sold many pieces in Dallas and out of state as well. We strive to live by our words- “Reconstructing the World Through Art”.
Please tell us about your art.
We create acrylic on canvas pieces, mainly abstract but we do subjective pieces as well. We are expressionist. Our designs express freedom and creating a way for yourself and the life you want no matter what the system how’s to say about it, it’s always a way.
Choosing a creative or artistic path comes with many financial challenges. Any advice for those struggling to focus on their artwork due to financial concerns?
Get creative and learn how other businesses work that have nothing to do with art. Figure out their system then see how you can incorporate that in your art business. Its many marketing strategies that could work and many business models that could as well. It’s no certain way to do it, it’s about execution and adjusting when necessary.
