Meet George Torres of All Paws To The Rescue! in Garland

Today we’d like to introduce you to George Torres.

Thanks for sharing your story with us George. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I grew up in Rowlett and Garland Area. I did a lot of acting growing up in Dallas. I lived in Los Angeles and Santa Monica for 13 years pursuing my passion. I’ve done a few television spots and commercials. I’m represented here in Dallas by the Clutt’s Agency and I’ve done a few commercials here. My mother had cancer and passed away in June of 2015. She left her house to me and my sister. My sister already had a house of her own, so I decided to move back and take over. I’ve worked quite a few jobs. They were mostly restaurant, medical field, and dog walking. I’m a really huge animal lover and decided to open my own dog walking and pet sitting business. I’ve seen how well they do. We donate a portion of our profits to rescue shelters in the Dallas area. We’ve donated to Operation Kindness, Dallas Pets Alive, Paws in the City, Patriot Paws, DFW Canines for Veterans and we also make a small donation to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Now I’m more passionate about this business than anything. I don’t see any other pet sitting/dog walking business who does this. It’s a win-win all around. I’m now pursuing my Dog Trainer Certification and I’m also looking into schools to study to be a veterinarian.

Has it been a smooth road?
We just started in January. Things were slow at first, but I’ve hit the ground running with advertising and marketing, SEO, and social media. We are only in our 4th month and we are doing really well. Everybody is hopping on the “All Paws” train for their pet care needs. We make our donations at the beginning of every month. My wife and I love what we do and we are excited that our business is growing as fast as it is. We also have an 8-month-old human baby and 3 fur babies. We are excited to attend events like “Strut Your Mutt” for SPCAOf Texas to get the word out. I will probably need to start hiring pet sitters soon at the rate this is growing.

So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the All Paws To The Rescue! story. Tell us more about the business.
There are many pet owners out there who are working and can’t step away to let their pets out to potty or feed them. They feel bad leaving their baby in a crate for 8-12 hours a day. That’s where we come in. That’s our service. What sets us apart from the others is that we donate a portion of our profits to rescue shelters. I’ve worked for companies that make really good money doing this service. I wanted to make it better and I wanted to give back. We are so proud of what our company does.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
We will be adding dog training, dog grooming, and maybe an online and physical store with healthy foods for pets. I’m also thinking about building an app for all of our services. Technology is on the rise with all of these services and we need to stay competitive. The sky is the limit! I see us doing very big things going forward.
