Meet Mora Namdar of Namdar Law & BAM Beauty Bar in Uptown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mora Namdar.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Mora. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am a born and raised first generation North Texas girl who grew up with two of the hardest working parents you could ever meet. I always loved art, literature, and helping people and was always encouraged to study and work hard. I started attending college courses at SMU when I was just 13 years old during the summers and ended up falling in love with the campus so I attended SMU for my undergraduate studies as well after High School. SMU allowed me to nurture many different facets of my personality. While I obtained dual degrees in Political Science and International Studies as well as minors in Fine Art, Philosophy, and Human Rights I was also able to study abroad in Italy and at Oxford University as well. Those are some of my fondest memories which allowed me to expand my horizons and live in other places. I was able to follow my passions for helping people through helping as a Student Senator to establish the Human Rights department at SMU while also exploring my passion for Fine Art and all the beauty the world has to offer. After SMU, I attended law school in Washington D.C. at American University obtaining a dual J.D. and Masters in International Affairs. There I co-founded the National Security Law Brief and served as Editor-in-Chief. While in D.C. I worked for Oxy and was able to attend meetings with high level policy makers and diplomats. It was then that I was recruited to work for a U.S. government agency as a Special Assistant advising on National Security and Policy. After several years there, I founded my law firm, Namdar Law in Washington D.C. and Dallas, Texas. I love helping clients through Namdar Law but also always kept my passion for painting, Fine Art and the Art of Beauty. I am fortunate enough to have many great friends who asked me to be a bridesmaid in their weddings and I found that most of the time, the brides and bridesmaids would ask me to do their makeup. It dawned on me that there is a need for a gorgeous place that treats the styling of women like a form of art and provides the best quality hair and makeup services in a luxurious environment for reasonable prices. This just didn’t exist. So, while running Namdar Law, I created BAM – blowouts and makeup, and began searching for the perfect location. I knew that I wanted to use only the finest products and tools like Balmain Hair Couture, Dyson hair dryers, T3 tools, and our own BAM makeup line which is hypoallergenic, non-animal tested, and some of the most beautiful, natural, and blend-able makeup on the market. I knew the space had to be gorgeous, sophisticated, and evoke dreams of a Parisian heaven in Dallas. I commissioned a towering 20 foot flower wall comprised of handmade individual flowers which greet you as you walk in the door, Soon enough, my vision for BAM became a reality in the Uptown Neighborhood of West Village in Dallas and we were lucky enough to be named “The Prettiest Place to get Pretty in Dallas” by D magazine when we opened. I feel so fortunate that I am able to follow my passions and help people every day, whether that means helping them through a legal process or helping them feel beautiful on a special day.

Has it been a smooth road?
As the old saying goes, “if it were easy, everyone would do it.” Nothing about building a business, let alone two, is easy. I would say one of the most important lessons I learned is that you have to be careful about who let into your inner circle and who you trust. Good friends are hide to come by and you should appreciate the great people in your life and be sure to distance yourself from those who don’t have your best interests at heart.

Namdar Law PLLC- We are based in Dallas, Texas and Washington D.C. We specialize in business transactions, contracts, government contracts, international law and art. We are known for being trustworthy in our advice to our clients.

BAM Beauty Bar – We do blowouts and makeup in Uptown, Dallas. We are known for using the best quality products and tools (including Balmain Hair Couture of the French fashion house, Dyson hair dryers, T3 tools, BAM hypoallergenic, non-animal tested makeup,) the most talented artists, and for having the most gorgeous salon in all of Dallas to provide an unforgettable experience. If that wasn’t enough, we are extremely competitive with our pricing and packages to make this luxury affordable with blowouts at $45 and makeup applications beginning at $35 and up.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Namdar Law – I believe that people want simplicity in their processes and the industry is heading that way.
