Meet Natalie Greagor in Central

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Greagor.

Natalie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
The journey to creating a personal brand for myself has been really long and interesting. Natalie Greagor the brand was birthed through a series of mistakes and bumping my head but I’m stoked that I’ve arrived at this point.

Initially, I started out in the beauty industry close to a decade ago as a licensed cosmetologist. I created a personal brand called Natalie Uncut. My goal was to specialize in extensions in formal hair. I tried working the salon floor. I didn’t like it! I disliked the routine of it and I hated managing people or difficult clients on a consistent basis. So, I moved on to niche myself as a bridal freelancer.

At the time, I transitioned, I discovered that I can make more money booking weddings and earn great money within one day van the salon floor. The highlight was if I dealt with a difficult bride, I would never have to deal with her ever again. I also loved the energy in the rooms when these brides are getting married. Everybody’s excited and it’s just a great experience to be a part of.

As I marketed my new bridal business, other professionals or people who wanted to start their business would ask me about the design of my business cards, my website, my marketing ideas and much more. I grew tired of answering the same questions over and over again. So, I decided to create a Facebook page and put all my knowledge on there. Something stopped me and told me to research it because I wanted to make sure the information that I was putting out on the internet was accurate, effective, and easy to follow. I found the world of blogging after I did my research. And within that world of blogging, I also discovered passive income, affiliate marketing, and a new world of online millennials that either needed a voice, had a voice or want to make their voice louder in the digital space.

So, I created a new brand called strategist Cafe. With that brand, my audience helped me discover my strengths. I started off focusing on DIY design, content marketing, and passive income. Most of my audience gravitated towards content marketing and passive income, so I narrowed my focus down to those topics for that brand. After a year of serving my audience under the Strategist Cafe while also serving my brides and formal hair clients offline, I grew really tired and exhausted of trying to manage both.

Also with Strategist Cafe, I was tired of talking about the same things which are business-related tips, strategies, and ideas for content because I’d notice that many of the people that I work with lacked a certain type of mindset before they can even begin to create content and income paths for their brands.

I was so exhausted with this pattern of managing both brands, that I literally wanted to just pause or quit both companies until I spoke to some really close friends who know me and know how passionate I am about talking about both. I was advised to combine all of my brands under one umbrella myself and market multiple topics under Natalie Greagor. This makes it easier to manage especially if my focus changed at some point. My brand name will stay the same and my audience can follow and evolve as I do.

Wait, I left one really important thing out, during this journey I had the wrong people around me. My environment or the people I decided to keep in my life at the time, contributed to a lot of exhaustion and that also contributed to the many changes and mistakes I’ve experienced.

Having people around you the right people around you is so utterly important and reassessing that environment over and over again will help you more than it will hurt you. Yes, you are responsible for all of the decisions you make. However, having the right people around you will help you make better decisions.

Today, with my new personal brand, my goal is to share my knowledge in beauty, business and lifestyle (which covers the mindset piece) for female millennials who want to grow personally and professionally. These millennials could already be in their career in the corporate world, or new or emerging entrepreneurs, or may still be college students, single parents, etc. and really want to embrace their culture, their age, and their voice. They know what they stand for, how they feel, how they dress, and how they look without absorbing the opinions of others and doing it proudly.

If I could just have a positive heavy impact on one life to encourage them to take risks and really be proud of who they are becoming every single day, then my job is done. That is my goal.

For those who want to help build businesses online in the areas of my strength, content marketing, I will help clients in the beauty industry get noticed and paid online. It’s been a really long journey since I’ve legally started out in the salon. I started doing hair when I was in 7th grade and this was a course without a license so that’s why I say legally (lol). I’ve been in the hair industry for a really long time and I know the strength and hustle that’s needed on a day-to-day basis to stay competitive and build brand awareness.

Thank you so much for considering me for this opportunity as a Hidden Gem in Dallas. Dallas has not seen my greatest strengths yet however, the Natalie Greagor brand will be a household name one day and I am rooting for every female millennial female to win in their life and be fulfilled both personally and professionally. Thank you.

Has it been a smooth road?
Absolutely not! There have been many struggles along the way. If I had to pinpoint where I hit hard, I would have to take the blame for not having the right people around me while I attempted to build and grow the brands I created. The environment is so very important and I had to realize the hard way that not everyone is on your team.

I was willing to put in the work, but I felt as if I had something pulling me down or back. I was willing to DIY (do-it-yourself) it, research, take classes and pay for my education. I wasn’t able to do that with the wrong people around me. That alone has had the biggest impact on me to date.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Natalie Greagor story. Tell us more about the business.
Natalie Greagor, the brand, is less than six months old at the time. I am a multi-passionate entrepreneur and blogger for female millennials. I specialize in lifestyle topics such as beauty, business, and mindset. What I am known for most are my confessional blogs. I am most proud of this brand because it is authentic. I really enjoy creating content that shows who I am on and offline. I am not grammatically correct or politically correct. I do not sugarcoat. My content is direct and honest. That is what sets me apart from others.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Within 5-10 I will be a bridal hair influencer who teaches the business side of owning their brands online. I’ll influence voice (how they market, who they market to, etc.) and I will influence skill by teaching them how to style formal hair.

I will also be a digital influencer who works with top name brands for mutual benefit and growth. I will only work with brands that benefit my audience and my reputation.
