Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Smith.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I kind of love to do ALL the things! I am a wife and full time elementary music teacher by trade, and entrepreneur, an event planner in my free time!
I launched my skincare business online in October of 2015 along with Asmithbeauty. As I dove into that and was finding success, work brought us from Arkansas back to Dallas where I grew up! I wanted to connect with new people and build real relationships with people because all of the friends I had no longer really lived in Dallas.
So, I started blogging. I had no idea what I was doing and honestly could not TELL you what made me want to, I just knew I needed a platform! February 2017 I launched Worth More Than Gold, my blog, and began influencing my audience not only with skincare, but now all beauty, fashion, and lifestyle topics. I fell in love with connecting with people online.
As I continued with Asmithbeauty, I found there was a real gap between online “friends” and followers, and real relationships, especially as women. We need our girlfriends! So, I started Dallas Girl Gang as a Facebook group with a few friends in April 2017. People were HUNGRY for this apparently, and as God led me to continue to feed this fire, we are now sitting at 930+ women in this online community. We have launched event after event, along with newsletters, and merchandise! We plan to have a website up and running in the Fall of 2018 with some exciting things coming!
All of this was really possible, though, with my skincare business. The residual income each month fed my new passions with blogging, having pictures done, hosting events, and supporting Dallas Girl Gang! It is truly my passion to share with others how they can have that vehicle of income to get to their dreams too.
Now, I have launched an event planning platform @amandasmithevents, and am in the process of planning my next event, The Fearless Event. This event will equip women with practical skills to be a source of grace & positivity while encouraging them in their callings. Visit @fearlessevent on Instagram!
I love all that I do and balance is hard, but you have to make dreams happen if they’ve been given to you! I cannot wait to see what the Lord has in store next.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
NO! I actually stopped blogging back in Jan. of 2018. It was not fun for me, I wasn’t profiting, and husband missed me. I was gone so much for blogger events and photo shoots it just was not worth it for me.
Being a self-starter, I tend to take on too much, so that is something I will always have to learn to balance.

I am probably known as the skincare, events, and community guru if I had to guess what someone would say!

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Thought about it all more. What would my life look like if I did this and carve out the time! I jump into stuff too easy!
