Today we’d like to introduce you to Eboni Griffin.
Eboni, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Since I was 9 year’s old, it has always been my dream to open a child care center. Though some life obstacles tried to throw me off course, I’ve always gotten back up and never giving up. I’ve worked in the childcare field for over 17 years doing everything except signing the paychecks. As I grew older, it grew harder for me to continue to do this knowing this is not the purpose or the vision God gave me for my life. (I believe God makes us uncomfortable when he’s trying to get us to move). I believe he had great plans for my life and this is only the beginning. In September 2017, I became very sick, learning I had an ovarian cyst that was possibly cancerous. This is the place of pain in my life where God pushed me into my purpose then doors of Ordered Steps Child Care were open. After 2 months of pain and suffering even being wheelchair bound for 3 weeks, God began to heal me (without the help of doctors)! During my sickness, I could not work and could barely take care of myself but I grew better each day. One day during my healing process, a relative called me and asked me to babysit. That one child transformed into my now successful day care home that I push through my pain and started in 2018! It wasn’t my plan to start in a home but God said start here, so I did. It is my goal to grow from day care home to a fully licensed & highly reputable child care center.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My struggles included healing from a basketball size ovarian cyst as a low-income single mother of 3 daughters and overcoming my fear to start my child care business but I stepped out on faith and God has taken care of me as he always has and will.

Ordered Steps Child Care is a child day care home in Garland, TX, dedicated to the holistic (whole) development of each child and make our goal to make sure every child in care receives the best care and love that they all deserve. We are committed to providing children with a loving and developmentally sound foundation to create lifelong learners in a safe, sanitary and positive environment where your child can grow and thrive.
