Meet Christopher Knowles of MrKnowles in Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher Knowles.

Christopher, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My photography journey began with a Canon Powershot 120 in hand for a college elective my junior in college at Tarleton State University. I remember seeing others with DSLR’s and had no clue what or how they functioned. My hunger for photography continued after being revealed the technique of rule of thirds. It is a term for composition. A rule but can be veered from in some cases. Photography is similar to any other hobby or profession. Rules are constructed guidelines set for starters and pros in the same. But as one grows in their own respected craft, they explore what is outside of the boundaries. Many thanks to that professor.

Today, the focus is creating a bi-weekly photography workshop starting in Fort Worth, Tx at Artspace 111. It will consist of light techniques, photography theory, featured models and stylist. Each class will have its own unique itinerary based on time and demand. Sure that I’m fortunate to have those of what I consider creative sparks in my life. To name a few people who I have produced work with include: Dominic Le’Tobin, stylist extraordinaire. Charles Sharif, model at large. Estevan Barreiro, genius illustrator. Thank you, guys.

To conclude, my gear has changed over the years. No longer practicing with the Canon Powershot 120. Invested in a D3200 (Nikon). Then, moved up to a D750 (Nikon). Gear is only a third of the photography. The rest is up to the person manning the equipment. My technique has changed from relying on the built-in meter within the camera as I have my trustee light meter (Minolta Flash Meter III). I love it! Who knows which camera that I’ll have when we meet.

Has it been a smooth road?
Not at all. Some readers may relate to the struggle of working a full time while trying to gather ever-fleeting energy to create work separately from that job. I wouldn’t say that I ever felt as though I was drowning, but I have felt like jumping ship to make a wave for myself as a young entrepreneur. Contentment has both distracted and encouraged me. Distracted me from what I have been given, what I’ve worked hard for, and what I’ve been able to achieve. Encouraged me to pen a plan down to accomplish. Penning goals is truly a healthy practice. Practice scheduling, public relations, cold calling, following up, and sharing thoughts with critically minded peers. Learning how to smoothen out rough roads will be your biggest accomplishment. Rough roads are a part of life. Adapt.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with MrKnowles – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Companies main vision is to create, treat, and respect each opportunity with a healthy timeline of commitments. We want to specialize in a manageable manner as in many fields as we are presented with. New projects are accepted and taken into account with active thinking and planning. We want to be known as a trusted entity to those close and far, locations wise, from us. As a company, completed projects that clients re satisfies with are what we are most proud of. Rather, it includes a photo shoot, meets and greet or pop up an art show. We learn from others as much as they learn from us. What sets us apart from the members and minds of our team.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The people make up a city. The goal of each person is to inform the world of what we have here. ‘We matter mentality’ is the common theme. Which is true of every city I believe. Being a part of the art scene is quite a surprise for me. Being that I mentioned that I wasn’t active until after my years in college. Returning has opened my eyes to the vibrancy of each being that speaks up and creates their own reality by the stroke of the pen, dab of the paint brush, shutter actuation, and pop up curations. The least… well, I’m sure there many artists who feel as they are overlooked. That’s not cool. To those, I encourage you not to take ‘no’ as a resounding answer. Strive and prove the ‘no’s’ wrong. I’ll walk with you. See you soon.
