Meet Producer Chef Marokyn in Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Arturo Marroquin.

Arturo, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started producing music seriously at the age of 18. I became best friends with people who also indulged in music as serious as myself and they kept me on track to be where I’m a today in the music scene.

Has it been a smooth road?
Some struggles, I would say is having to be very patient. When it’s your time to have real success in the business, you have to be ready for anything that comes your way. Although I’m nowhere near where I want to be, I see that now it’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I produce/engineer music for an artist that is independent and I look forward to working with some in the industry very soon! I’m most known for my production on an album titled Give Me Just a Minute by D”Andre Martin. He’s one of my best friends that I’ve been working with for a few years and I’m proud to see where this project has taken us so far. From doing shows to creating music videos with my other best friend Joey Nicotra, 2018 has been a blast so far and I am very blessed to be doing this with my best friends and family. I think what sets me apart is that I’m able to create songs instead of just instrumentals. From recording to engineering, to be able to create melodies and to have a certain mindset for the arrangement so that the artist is able to make the song their own.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I feel like Dallas can be a good start for finding great artist and producers. There are plenty of talented people in the area. I wouldn’t disapprove if I was asked, “should I move to Dallas and start doing business here”. But, I wouldn’t fully recommend it only for this reason. I feel like the community here should be a lot closer together then where it is now. It almost feels like everyone is against each other and they don’t see that we can all have success in this business together.
