Today we’d like to introduce you to Rose Guzman.
Rose, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
A friend suggested I begin offering my services as a professional photographer after noticing how much I enjoyed taking photographs. The timing was perfect. I had also begun nursing school, so photography served as a mental escape from the stresses that involved being a nursing student. I have been asked many times how is it that I managed a full-time job, being a full-time student, and photography, and I believe it is because my heart is in it. Photography simply does not feel like a job. I love it!
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I adore capturing engagements, weddings, and portraits. First and foremost, I believe the most important thing about my art is providing a comfortable environment for the client(s) and listening to what they want out of the session. Keeping their inspiration in mind, I am able to capture what they imagined. Providing the client with positive feedback during their session is very important in creating such an environment. It is a reminder that they look great and they are doing great.
My inspiration for my work are the individuals who I get to photograph. Whether it be a session of the individual celebrating him or herself, families, and/or weddings, I find inspiration in their achievements. Their energy is so vibrant. They are happy. And I enjoy seeing others happy. My artwork is versatile. It can be romantic, classic, and fun, which is what I hope people take away from my art when they see it.
Do you think conditions are generally improving for artists? What more can cities and communities do to improve conditions for artists?
I feel conditions for artists have become both easier and harder in the recent years. We are surrounded by countless of extremely creative individuals. This allows for many choices when looking for a photographer, makeup artist, and fashion blogger to follow. So, one must really work hard to try and stick out. I have learned what works best, however, is staying true to your own style. Remember there is something for everyone. Voyage Dallas is a wonderful platform to help art and artists thrive in a city like ours.

Rose does an amazing job of capturing the inner and outer beauty of her subjects, I have never felt so beautiful….she doesn’t stop working on an image until she is satisfied with the results. Highly recommend this creatively talented photographer!

This woman is amazing!! She has the purest of hearts and it shines through anything and everything she does! I’ve known her for 10+ years and she still keeps me in awe with her multiple accomplishments. I am sooo happy she was my wedding photographer this past fall. She never fails. Ever.
