Today we’d like to introduce you to Oddy the GXD.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I’m from Cleveland Ohio, West side to be exact. I wasn’t the average kid running around in the hood. I never got into drugs or guns. I’m only known for my rapping skills and creativity in music altogether. My mom raised 4 kids by herself most of her life. I became fond of music in 1st grade but came out of the shadows at 12 years old. My childhood was very unruly, solely because of the things I did back then. As adulthood came and went I’ve ran into a lot of obstacles along the way. At 25 I picked up the love for the Videography world and start shooting visuals. As a few years go by I meet my wife Tiera Hampton (Now Tiera Williams) and moved to Texas, where I started my MultiMedia Company Oddy Visuals.
Please tell us about your art.
My creativity comes from life. If you know how to utilize your life, environment and situations in your own way, the possibilities are endless. I want to show the world that anything is possible, no matter what stands in your way. That’s what my music is all about. Inspiration.
Choosing a creative or artistic path comes with many financial challenges. Any advice for those struggling to focus on their artwork due to financial concerns?
Learn how to budget. There are a lot of inexpensive ways to build your brand. There may be spots in your local area that hold free networking events. It’s all about the drive and how bad you want to succeed.
