Meet Karlye Melynn Reel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Karlye Melynn Reel.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
New York City is where my love for photography began. I discovered my true passion as a photographer in Manhattan while attending & graduating from the renowned school, Make Up Designory {MUD}, as a Master Make Up Artist. New York City’s people, architecture & fashion shows gave me endless subjects to capture. Soon enough I realized how much I loved being behind the camera more than showcasing my art on the faces of my peers with blush & mascara. While I still love makeup & spend too much money in Sephora, photography is my true passion.

Please tell us about your art.
I’m a natural light wedding and lifestyle photographer capturing moments for people that they’ll never forget. Why do I shoot these moments? I truly believe that photos are the only thing we’ll have to help remind us of the past. We can physically hold an image in our hands and take our minds back to that time.

I genuinely hope my style of photography gives off a fresh and realistic feeling for my clients. My goal is to always capture a story of the rawest moments and bring smiles to the faces of those viewing these images. From being a Medical Aesthetician to a Make-Up Artist to a Photographer, it’s all in the details, and I love the details.

As an artist, how do you define success and what quality or characteristic do you feel is essential to success as an artist?
As an artist, I define success by the feedback of my clients, if they’re happy then I’ve done my job successfully. The most important key to success is positivity and believing in yourself, with this you will only move forward.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
I invite everyone to follow along with me and my journey as a photographer via Instagram at @karlyemelynnphoto for the most updated content. You can also view my website where you’ll find more information and details on specific moments you’d like captured one day. I encourage everyone {friends, vendors, future clients} to connect with me and share their stories!
