Today we’d like to introduce you to Roselle Pliego.
Roselle, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am a full-time stay at home mom living in Dallas, TX. I am originally from Miami and of Haitian decent. My husband is Mexican American and I really embrace his Hispanic roots. We are a blended family with 3 beautiful kids that keep us busy. I love our rich culture and I make it point to teach my children about their heritage while creating our own adventures in Dallas and beyond.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
This journey that I have been through has been incredible and required me to be patient. I have come to appreciate the word patience because the journey of blogging is not comparing your success to others in the same field of work. I found it important to stay grounded and focus on my goals and to stay in my lane.
Please tell us about In_DFWFamily.
I am a full-time mother first and I am a contributor writer for Visit Irving and Visit DFW. I am proud to be a stay at home mom. I am able to be apart of my children’s early stages of life and share those memories together. This journey of motherhood is important to me and I make it my priority to be a good example. Also being a blogger and freelance writer exposes my family to new and exciting adventures in DFW and what makes it special is that we can experience them together. It makes my job cool and fun.
What advice would you give to someone at the start of her career?
I would like to tell her to always stay true to her self and be authentic. There is no one like you and what you bring to your career is very special. I always say ‘ stay in your lane” this will allow you not to be distracted and always remember “why” you started your career.
