Meet Michael Stafford and Joe Jimenez of Paradise Pool and Patios in Northwest Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Stafford and Joe Jimenez.

Michael and Joe, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Joe and I worked in the industry together for a Top 50 Pool Builder here in the DFW metroplex. We incurred upset homeowners and countless mistakes that could have been avoided while working with this company. Joe and I set out to change the game and start a new generation of the pool and patio industry. One morning, at a coffee shop in Dallas, Joe and I formed Paradise Pool and Patios. Our mission was to be the new face of the industry and to put our customer’s first. We believe we are DFW’s next generation builder and we work every day to be the best at what we do.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
We believe the best things in life do not come easy. I would compare our road to 75 with moderate traffic (if that is even a thing) 😊 There has been some road blocks, but each one we conquer and grow stronger. It has been a huge learning experience and it has not been without mistakes. This is construction and the key is to learn from each one, not letting them hold you back. One of our friends in the industry told us one day “after your millionth mistake, you still won’t know everything”. We love the challenges that come up and although they may slow us up like the traffic on 75, it starts moving again shortly.

Paradise Pool and Patios – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Our company focuses on a few lines of residential construction. We do new pool construction, patio covers, outdoor living areas, fireplaces, fire pits, remodels, landscaping and pool service.

We love building a new pool in someone’s backyard. To take a blank slate, draw a design in Pool Studios and then build the design you drew is extremely gratifying. Our design and vision skills are what we specialize in. Walking in to a backyard and bouncing ideas off of our customers to deliver exactly what they want.

We are separated from others because we truly want what is best for our clients. Joe and I are on site nearly every day to ensure the project is meeting our expectations. We are boutique and deliver a different experience than dealing with the salesmen of these larger companies.

Joe and I are most proud of the relationships we build with our clients and the name that has been created for us. People are not just a number to us and we believe in bending over backwards for our customers. By keeping our focus on staying small, we can complete many pool projects in less than 4 weeks.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is something that is viewed differently between many people. I believe successful people surround themselves with friends and family of similar drive. It can be defined through monetary or emotional value. Joe and I are both fortunate enough to have the best group of friends that support and push us to succeed every day. We would not be who we are today without those people. Another marker I look for is someone that is not afraid to take a risk. We would not be where we are today if we did not decide to go out on our own. It was SCARY! With that said, it made us work harder towards our goals.
