Today we’d like to introduce you to Diamond King.
Diamond, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Mother of twin girls whom are 7 and an only child to a loving mother that puts God first in every aspect of my life, via health, family, career etc. I am what I call an entrepreneur in training it took me so long to build myself up to indulge in this thing we call life and be able to create a better life for me and my family. I began writing at a young age possibly when I was in the 3rd grade it was just children stories at first but later my imagination began to broaden over time and with age. I started with my best friend writing love stories of different guys we had a crush on at such a young age. It was just something she and I did for fun and we still do as adults.
My career path started out after I had my children in 2010, when I was told your love for writing should be so much more than just something you and your friend do for fun at first I was in disagreement because we both agreed no one could read our stories. But, then I thought what if I work on my skills a little bit more and write about something I love most and advertise it or promote it. So, I began to research and work more on planning out my goals and my future as to what I wanted to do and how I was going to do it. So I turned to social media in 2011 and began promoting and advertising for different companies’ private medical offices, insurance companies that I worked for individually owned daycare and nurseries helping them build websites and blogs.
That only got better when I started advertising and promoting music concerts via Social Media and making flyers for certain local artists, people seen my work and asked me to do them a few flyers and advertise it, but I didn’t stop there I figured why not go and make a career out of this either go back to school or work for a company getting paid to do these things.
That’s when I was giving the opportunity to work for a company called Dyme Squad Entertainment they recognized my too favorite things and told me I can make a career out of it. My love for Music and Writing this company had just started their magazine company up again called Purple Diamond Soul, I was super excited to Intern for this company because I was able to meet a lot of different entertainers in the industry.
It gave me the opportunity to work on my writing skills a little more and influenced me to want to do more in the entertainment industry, so I did I decided one day after hearing great things about this wonderful lady I was going to be interviewing her name was CeCe Vance, Celebrity Publicist and Brand CEO for I AM You natural hair care line. She has been in the industry for years and I really wanted to get under her belt and have her mentor me into someone like her or more.
So in 2017 she began to take me under her wing as Intern Publicist and that is why I am what I am today a full on Publicist. My goal now is to continue to strive at what I do best and make my career happen and broaden it a little bit more as I go. With the support that I have I feel I would reach my goal in no time.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road at all, it has definitely had its challenges, between the struggle of bouncing from job to job and trying to upon my business moving from city to city and trying to uphold my business, losing everything we ever owned, being a full-time mother and having to sacrifice things for them and began to home school them because of the jacked school systems. During all of this I had to put my career on hold several times just to get things in order for us to have steady living space, money and health. I am still in the process of everything but with the grace of God and strength and guidance he has given me I feel things are gonna go smoothly sooner rather than later.

My business is based upon my skills that I have endured over the years, I am a Writer first I have been writing for 20 plus years which ties in and consist of me writing love stories, poems, articles, flyers, promotional ads and advertising ads. I am a Social Media Promoter managing social media marketing campaigns and day-to-day activities including: Develop relevant content topics to reach the company’s target customers. Design, create and manage promotions and Social ad campaigns. Alongside writing articles I write press release for local music artist to talk about their brand or about their music. To add to my writing I freelance write for those whom look to broadcast the businesses and/or brands. I am also a Graphic Designer, create visual concepts, by hand or using computer software, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, or captivate consumers such as advertisement, Promos, magazines and covers. And last but not least I am a Publicist who helps her clients build their brands, thrive in their companies and in this industry.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Honestly, I do not feel our city is a good place for business such as mine, because we do not have the proper advertising business that inquiries such skills, Dallas-Metroplex needs to broaden their advertising and PR skill a little bit more in order to advance to the levels of those are already there.
