Meet Malcolm Minikon of iMinikon Videos in Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Malcolm Minikon.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started as a videographer in the Dallas club scene doing videos, transitioned into the model game, then made my way to traveling and now being in front and behind the camera as my own brand traveling world wide.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It hasn’t been smooth. The hardest part was getting support from Dallas, and my own friends even. And also getting the respect I felt I deserved.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I’m known for my music videos and my face. I’m basically known for being myself In front and behind the camera. You can look at it as a DJ Khaled of music videos and content creation. Internet stuff. I’m most proud of how much I’ve grown in the last couple years and how I’ve been able to support my family off of staying true to myself and I haven’t had to clock into a 9 to 5 in over a year. The thing that sets me apart is that no one can do me better than me, and I feel like I’m really good at building relationships and being able to be where ever in the world I want to be if someone needs me. I travel freely.

What were you like growing up?
I was in a predominantly white area but at the same time very diverse, but with that being said, if you weren’t white it felt harder to get recognized for being good at things. I got my recognition from sports like track and football. I always had a starting position and always felt like I deserved more respect than was given to me with my rolls on whatever team I was on, but at the same time never ask for or demanded it. So people liked me for always being the token black guy that played his part and never stepped out of line because he had a good relationship with everybody. I’ve always been goofy but never considered myself funny until I took it to the internet. I also felt more of a connection to be around females more than guys too so I had a lot of female friends, but was the Virgin football jock until after high school. Lol.
