Today we’d like to introduce you to Randi Bettner.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Randi. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I love helping businesses bloom and encouraging people to do what they love. That’s why I started Pistol Prints.
I grew up on a farm in Northern Illinois and developed a good work ethic learning from my folks. I went to school for Graphic Communication and Marketing at Western Illinois University, graduated and took my the first job offer in Madison, WI. I worked for a boutique real estate brokerage as a Digital Media Specialist.
I have always had an entrepreneurial mindset which leads me to want adventure and something MORE. My boyfriend, who is a Dallas native, and I sold everything, packed up and left the cold. We got to Texas as fast as we could!
I moved to Texas jobless. With the help of my parents, I started Pistol Prints with a heat-press and Cameo silhouette on my kitchen counter in my one bedroom apartment. I opened my Etsy shop and sold some decals and shirts here and there.
I still create silly t-shirts and decals on my Etsy shop, but it is the social media marketing side of Pistol Prints that I am most proud of. I help people within the real estate industry brand themselves and get noticed online. This aspect of my business truly fulfills me as I am helping these lenders, realtors, title companies, etc expand and grow their businesses. I love educating my sphere on the importance of social media and teaching them the new technologies to better brand themselves.
Sticking to the real estate industry, I decided to start DFW Media Pro about a year ago. DFW Media Pro offers 3D Virtual Tours, Real Estate Photography, and Videography. I love shooting these tours because it is such a new technology that offers so much value and convenience for my clients. Oh, and I get to see some pretty awesome properties here in the DFW Metroplex 😉
Nowadays you can catch me in a local coffee shop with my nose in my laptop or hauling around a large camera from house to house. It has not been easy but I wouldn’t trade this journey! Everyone has to start somewhere. Better now than later! Do what makes you happy.
Has it been a smooth road?
Rocky road is more like it. This journey is always a rollercoaster. There is always something going wrong or not as planned. What matters is how you deal with it and keep your head held high. You will succeed if you keep at something that you’re passionate about long enough. My advice is to not give up. Check out your competition. Gather inspiration from people like you. What seems to be working for them? Copy and Paste it into your daily life.
We’d love to hear more about Pistol Prints & DFW Media Pro.
Pistol Prints is pretty broad. I specialize in branding and social media marketing. My niche is real estate.
Pistol Prints is also the name of my Etsy shop where I create custom apparel and decals.
My other company, DFW Media Pro specializes in real estate photography offering 3D virtual tours, aerial photography/videography and soon video production.
I pride myself in putting forth exceptional work. Whether it be a t-shirt, social media post, email campaign or 3D tour, I am a perfectionist and will only finalize on what I am happy with or proud to call mine.
I am known for being transparent and dependable. I always answer my phone. That is unless I am showering or yelling at my two puggles.
Do you feel like there was something about the experiences you had growing up that played an outsized role in setting you up for success later in life?
Absolutely. My parents are the most humble and hardest working people I know. I am so grateful I was raised on the farm and in a stable household. I owe it all to them.
