Meet Angela Batra of E&B Couture

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Batra.

Angela, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Ever since I brought my first puppy home it was a mission of mine to find a stylish but very durable dog collar and matching dog leash made in the USA. This was an impossible task and led me to creating E&B Couture named after my two dogs, Ella and Bentley. Dogs are a huge part of my life and I treat my two fur babies, E&B, as my children. I have a local manufacturer that makes all the product in Dallas. It was very important to me to have it made local. I first started an online store and sold only online and then I started doing events and selling at dog parks (Mutts Canine Cantina in Uptown) and would sell out of product on the weekends. From dog parks and online sales, I went into the wholesale market and sold to the local pet stores around town and now have retailers all over the US and Canada.

Has it been a smooth road?
The company has evolved very organically but just as any small business we have struggled with marketing efforts and how to grow the company and gain more retailers. Always looking for new innovative ways to get the brand name out there and get the product into more hands without having to spend a large amount of money on marketing.

So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the E&B Couture story. Tell us more about the business.
E&B Couture is a designer dog collar and lead company made in the USA (Dallas, TX). E&B Couture dog collars and leads are the perfect blend of strength and style. Every dog collar has a matching lead and the quality is guaranteed. Every product is made with only the highest quality material and carefully inspected to ensure superior quality. I take pride in having high quality dog collars and leads that will last a long time.

What sets us apart from other dog collar and lead companies is our unique upscale boutique look. The dog collars and leads have a stylish silver logo plate and matching rivets instead of your typically threading that not only adds style but increases the durability of the product.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The pet industry is continuing to rise. Americans are spending more on their pets than ever before, and expenditures continue to rise. By 2020, the U.S. pet industry is expected to reach $96 billion in sales. Approximately 56% of U.S. households own pets, and the close emotional bonds people share with their furry friends is a major driver of industry growth. We all like to spoil our pets!
