Today we’d like to introduce you to Patrick Crowe.
Patrick, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
My story…. I have been a Portrait Photographer all my life. From high school to now, you can usually find me with my camera either on my hip or within a few feet of reach. I completed course work with The New York Institute of Photography years ago and used those fundamentals as a starting point to pursue photography. After some time in Corporate America & Wireless Telecom performing various roles, I have relaunched my pursuit of Portrait Photography; based in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and looking to travel the world.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I study people, quickly, and make compositions that hopefully provide a fresh outlook on an otherwise familiar scene. I accomplish my work with minimal equipment, most times on location and provide a quick turnaround for completed projects. I enjoy creating images with all types of clients, but particularly entrepreneurs, musicians and those with a specific vision that I can help bring to life.
With every session, I hope that my subject leaves with a new level of self-confidence. Encouraging and guiding my clients thru a photo session to the point of ‘I can’t wait to shoot with you again!’ is what my Team and I strive for with every photoshoot.
What would you recommend to an artist new to the city, or to art, in terms of meeting and connecting with other artists and creatives?
I think photographers are inherently loners. After the photoshoot, we spend hours behind the laptop (or in the dark room, years ago) crafting ‘the perfect image’. My advice is to step out and connect with other photographers and artists. Attend networking groups. GO TO ART SHOWS. Just put yourself out there to see what happens and with whom you’ll find a connection. I have gained life-long friends and collaborators by doing so and becoming more active in the local art scene in Dallas. Put yourself and your work on display. It’s worth the effort. People are looking to connect with YOU more than you know.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
My most current images can be found on Instagram and Facebook by searching ‘pcrowephoto’. Currently in revisions, the next incarnation of my website at www.pcrowephoto.com will feature collections of my work with select images and products for sale.
In addition, I will be participating in shows with The Artsy Monkey LLC in September (‘Music Fuels the Picture’ at Deep Ellum Arts Co. and Porchfest Dallas in October).
To support my work, hire me for a photoshoot! Send me an email at pc@pcrowephoto.com to discuss your project. Let’s shoot!
