Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Hamilton.
Victoria, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I found my passion for hair at a young age. Growing up, my mother suffered from Alopecia causing her to have areas of hair on her head that didn’t grow. Seeing the insecurity that formed within her from Alopecia drove me to want to make women feel and look beautiful.
I’ve been braiding hair for 10 years, starting at age 16 and professionally for 3 years; receiving my cosmetology license at Salon Boutique Academy located here in the DFW Metroplex. There, I gained the tools and knowledge needed to further my career in the beauty industry, which also gave me the opportunity to win the 2017 Beacon Award top 5 for the state of Texas cosmetology students.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being a wife and a mother, the time spent at school away from my family was hard. But having the support of my family blessed me to be able to push through and stay focused on my goals. If you’re starting out, I would recommend having a good support team or just good positive energy around you at all times to keep your mind focused on your goals.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Embellished Braids – what should we know?
I specialize in braids. But also provide full service, such as: healthy hair, highlights (full/partial), silk press and hair color services toner; virgin hair, retouch, bleach, balayage.
Cutting service: Women’s haircut, Blow out/styling, Flatiron; Wand curl, shampoo, blow-dry, styling, and Updo.
The name, Embellished Braids, means beauty enhancement, confidence and empowering women to recognize the beauty that was already there before they sit in my chair. What sets my brand apart and the reason I am extremely proud is that I have the opportunity to help women smile, giving them that extra touch that let’s then know ” hey I am beautiful “. That’s what you’re getting when you receive an Embellished Braids service.
