Today we’d like to introduce you to Joyce Brunner.
Joyce, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have always been obsessed with the beauty industry: from the first time my mom showed me eyeshadow, to the very first time I put a curl into my hair.
I would be the first one to try a new style I saw on a movie or in the popular TV show. In my teens and twenties I was the one doing all my friends hair from new color to proms and banquests. The only shock to anyone when I announced I was going to cosmetology school, was that I waited so long.
My passion for this industry has always been about the people it impacts. How can everyone feel like the best version of themselves? In my chair or in the break room, my goal is for people to feel better when they walk away than they did when they walked in.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Honestly my biggest struggle has always been me. My self-doubt. My Insecurity. My Lack of confidence. Sure, I take all the continuing education and I work hard on my craft; but I also read the books and seek out the mentors who help me remember who I am and why I do what I do. Without knowing those two things, I would have quit many times over.
What should we know about Joyce Marie Style + Co? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
People are what I’m passionate about… Hair is my love: color, cut, smoothing treatments, perms, short, long, blondes, red heads, brunettes, men, women etc…
We work hard at bringing those together to create an experience. Male or female, we know our clients work hard so we take that into consideration with each service.
