Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyrsten Castillo.
Kyrsten, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I grew up in central Texas then attended the University of North Texas. It wasn’t until after I graduated college that I really discovered how much I love the beauty industry.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’m still learning everything about the makeup industry in particular. The biggest advice I can give is never stop learning. Personally, my education is the most valuable thing I own so I always try to further my education and apply it every day.
Please tell us about Beauty by Kyrsten.
While I am still trying to find my niche, I love to think out of the box. I particularly enjoy exploring different types of fashion and makeup for different types of people (goths, punks, ravers, etc.) and applying it to every day looks.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve benefited from using?
Exploring other influencers social media pages, sites like Modern Salon and Behind the Chair. Or just heading to a library or bookstore and brushing up your skills and refreshing your mind. My bookshelf is filled with books by Bobbi Brown and Racheal Zoe!
