

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chef Joanne Bondy.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Chef Joanne. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
After working as an Executive Chef focused on fine dining, baking, catering, wine events and community events, I decided to create a business that provided a specific need in the Culinary Arts. My goal has been to create pristine stocks and bone broths for the wide variety of uses in cooking and healthy living. Our focus is local grass fed proteins, organic ingredients, no GMO’s, pesticides, or soy feed. Our product is sold fresh with high collagen and delicious flavor. My business has come from my passion as a chef and my care for providing classic ingredients to professional chefs and home cooks. The journey through developing my business has brought another customer to our shop. They are people who need our products to assist in the repair of chemotherapy, preparing for cleanses or trying to manage allergies, arthritis and poor joints. Our gluten free products have become part of our customer’s daily diet.
Basically, we are providing the ingredients that were part of our diets before the large grocery store shelves filled with high sodium, preservative dense, flavorless, canned or boxed stock and broth products. We provide stocks that have been prepared in stainless steel kettles for a minimum cook time of 20 hours. Our recipes have a specific mix of proteins that create maximum flavor, collagen and nutrition. As a chef and business owner, my journey has depended on loving what I do and having likeminded people around me. Not everyone wants to make chicken stock, but we find adventure in the process everyday.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has been a smooth road compared to many obstacles people face in life. Determination, focus, appreciation, and working with integrity has determined my daily requirements. I have had to change my way of thinking in so many areas. Self-encouragement has hopefully made me a better person, to push forward to tell others that most things are possible if prepared for along the path. Any job has its struggles, nothing is perfect, no one is perfect, but justifying mediocracy just doesn’t work for what we are trying to accomplish here at Stocks & Bondy. Obstacles are given to us to challenge our comfort in “the box zone.” Anyone can make a difference today and in the future. There’s no room for excuses or poor behavior during the growth towards our future. We can’t allow struggles to stop our motion. In my opinion, progress comes from a thoughtful mind, balanced with a passionate heart. Being appreciative of the things we take for granted. Struggles create new relationships.

I am most proud of the two “millennials” who take care of our business. They care in every way and are open to new ideas. They listen, work hard, are super creative and have unquestionable integrity and work ethics. I am so grateful to have Angie and William by my side. I don’t understand the judgement of youngsters these days. (Wow I feel like that’s a word my mother would say) They just need what we all need in the work place…..room to move and respect. As mentors we should support their growth.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Yes…always looking to grow, add one more customer, one more account, one more employee, increase production and space. Our niche’ is unique, therefore I want to surround Stocks & Bondy with opportunities that take us to the unknown.
