Today we’d like to introduce you to Filip Kostov.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
My name is Filip Kostov. I’m from Bulgaria (EU) and I have been a professional makeup artist for 10 years, being featured in major magazines and other print material. Including work with Harper’s Bazaar, StickandStones, 12MAG, KOD Mag and featured in Cannes/France-(EMAZE), ImirageMag, LadaMag, DINYAMag and worked with Ryan Leslie in “Black Mozart”, Coca Cola TOURS, DJ STAGES – Mark Knight, Victor Calderone, Richie Hawtin, White Sansation…based in Dallas from two years and working as a teacher in two schools here, MODULES-Runway and Photography Master Makeup Classes and Fashion Analyst in Carrollton and Irving. Planning moving to California upgrading my techniques and jump into next level…I love fashion and fashion is my life!
Please tell us about your art.
I’m specialized into Editorial and Runway Makeup and Photography, I’m inspired from the people which surround me and everything around me! I love playing with colors and love avant-garde and couture fashion. When u see my work is always with moto: “Strong Fierce Woman” with sun kissed base, never used full face powder in my artistry and prefer dewy looks! I’m really not a fan of “Instagram-eyebrows” and those nude lips like eticket! Advise very simple – BE YOURSELF and the good apples coming with a lot of work and like every business is “UP-DOWN”, so don’t stay in front the screen all day and go for it!
What do you think is the biggest challenge facing artists today?
The biggest challenge is to be unique and different!
