Meet Felecia Williams of Heart 2 Soul Catering in Lancaster

Today we’d like to introduce you to Felecia Williams.

Felecia, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started my catering business in 2014 when a friend pushed me to do finger foods for her pop up shop and I received great review’s and was able to network with an event planner and within weeks booked a wedding. After the wedding the orders and all the supplies became a little too much for our small 1 bedroom apartment. I decided to put everything on hold until I had more space for storage and a bigger kitchen. In Sept 2016 God blessed me and my husband with a beautiful home, I still was putting off starting the business back up and a lot of my great friends keep pushing me to get back out there. I think I was waiting on confirmation and I believe I got that in April because I made the decision to relaunch that month and business has been booming like crazy since. I can’t take all the credit as my amazing friends are always referring me to clients and/or any type of networking event that I can attend to get my name out there I’m forever grateful to them! This is truly my gift from God and my true PASSION. To see people dance while they eat warms my heart and to keep hearing how good something is or better yet I love when they say I only eat your such and such…. I feel all fuzzy inside lol. I’m only just getting started so you’ll watch out for Heart 2 Soul Catering in the DFW area and ohhh a food truck in the near future! Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No it has not been an easy ride, I wish that I could say it has. The major obstacles that I personally struggled with was over buying products for an event and not making any profit when I could have and as well not charging the full price as I thought I was charging reasonable prices but I had to realize you change YOUR WORTH and my food is delicious and I put a lot of LOVE, TIME & PASSION into my food. All of this is still a process for me and I’m learning.

Heart 2 Soul Catering – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My catering business is centered around SOUL food however I can pretty much cook for any occasion or type of food (with the exception of Vegan, I’m ready up on this and dishes to be able to offer to customers). I always put my own little twist to my food, its funny when people tell me they tried to make something I cooled and they used all the same ingredients but it did not taste the same.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I would have to personally say to me SUCCESS is when I can put my friends and family into better positions and we all are able to live out our dreams. REACH ONE TEACH ONE….. I love sharing information with people.
