Meet Trailblazer Chloe Allday

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chloe Allday.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Chloe. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Looking back, it seems inevitable that I would end up as a wedding planner, although that was never the goal. I was never the girl that dreamed of her wedding or dressed up like a bride as a child.

I graduated from UNT with a BA in Fashion Design. During school, I worked decorating cakes, and after a couple of years I started working on wedding cakes and handling all the bridal consultations. I also took on side work helping with wedding dress alterations. During my senior year, I was exposed to the crazy and amazing world of runway production and loved every crazy minute of it.

I continued working on fashions shows after graduation, here in Dallas and in NYC. Looking for a change, I found myself in the wedding industry looking at wedding planning companies. I was hired onto a great team and started learning all about this crazy, beautiful industry. I loved creating beautiful events and flowers… I was totally hooked!

8 years later, I’ve gone from setting up and cleaning events, to assistant, to floral designer, to lead planner… and I have now found myself in the title of business owner! I am so excited about this next chapter: an opportunity to establish my own brand and ultimately make my own mark on this incredible industry.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I recently heard someone say that “failure isn’t the opposite of success, it’s part of it.”

As someone who has always been afraid of failure and not being “good enough,” this really resonated with me.

If I could give myself any advice when I was just starting out in business, this is what I would say: do not be afraid to fail, to look silly, or to make a mistake. You are inevitably going to all those things and they are not the enemy! All those things teach you so much more about who you are than your successes.

Surround yourself with people that lift you up! Negativity is infectious and it can creep in to your life without you realizing it. If you surround yourself with people that raise others up, instead of tearing them down, ultimately you will rise too!

We’d love to hear more about Allday Events.
I love to work with couples who enjoy classic design with a modern twist.

I promise to always be transparent with my clients; I want them to feel fully informed in the planning process, but guided as much as they need it.

I’m proud of my newly launched brand, and so excited to work with the amazing couples who are on the calendar this year!

Do you feel like there was something about the experiences you had growing up that played an outsized role in setting you up for success later in life?
I don’t think that most people realize that I am a child of immigrants and me, myself, an immigrant.

Coming from another culture, country and way of life, affects everything that I do. My parents worked very hard to give me the life and opportunities that I have now and keeping that perspective helps to keep me grounded. I try not to take anything for granted.

My parents were also both self-employed. I think that watching my two entrepreneurial parents has really helped me understand the hard work and dedication that it takes to run your own business.

I have seen, first hand, the benefits, and the drawbacks… and, although it was not something that I set out to do, I am excited to see where my journey as a business owner takes me.
