Meet Tony Green of Public Figure in Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tony Green.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Tony. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started off in design school, and grew a love for furniture design, and later a place in fashion merchandising. After working in the corporate side of that world, I found some of the passion gone, and I found a place for them to intersect in the service industry, events, and in branding myself for future musical pursuits as a vocalist. It’s a lot, but my happiness depends on it, and I like it that way.

Has it been a smooth road?
Oh no, and I don’t like it that way. Finding ways to stay passionate about being creative is a matter of trial and error. My challenges, probably going to design school to figure out it wasn’t the path that I necessarily had to take, I just wanted to do things by the book, an expensive lesson!

Other obstacles, I think creative blocks were a thing for me, and overcoming and coming to terms with times where I was just depressed, needing to being okay with that!

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
So now, I keep my hand in several baskets, in the service industry, I work for Kent and Co. Wines, where we pride ourselves on having one the most expansive by-the-glass selections in Texas, and where we also play host to some of Fort Worth’s finest patrons and build relationships based on great service. I take those same talents down the street where I bartend at one of Fort Worth’s coolest new and diverse spots, La Zona.

I’m known for a good experience, and I’m so happy to be able to have jobs that help me to grow my relationship with my city, able to have my hand in charitable events, art shows, and I’m proud to see growth there.

What sets me apart is having a reputation for happiness. When I have the chance, I choose happiness, and I’m lucky that people take notice. Some good charisma I got from my father doesn’t hurt either.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I like continuing to have my hand in many hats, but I’d like to grow into a brand doing more charitable events, connecting people with ideas that help people, enrich the city, and support the arts. Changes or trends?

I think staying on the pulse of a city is a young man’s game, and it takes work, shifts towards events that support diversity, latinx art shows, smaller galleries doing big ideas outside of the museum, art collectives on the rise, and creative event spaces are trends I’ve noticed and try to take part in.
