Yes. Thanks, for having us. Golden Blk Candle Lounge, a black and woman-owned haven of clean candle-making nestled in the vibrant city of Dallas, Texas.
We take immense pride in our heritage dedicated to providing you with exceptional candles that embody the perfect balance of beauty, wellness, and sustainability. We strive to create an inclusive space where diversity is celebrated, and voices are uplifted. Golden Blk Candle Lounge is a testament to the strength, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit infusing every candle we handcraft with the essence of our unique journey.
Our in-person candle-making classes provide a sensory journey where participants can unleash their creativity. Set in the vibrant heart of downtown Dallas, our carefully curated workshops offer an intimate and immersive environment. Participants learn the art of candle making from start to finish, from selecting fragrances to pouring the wax and customizing their creations. It’s an opportunity for individuals to engage with their senses, connect with their inner artist, and leave with a unique handcrafted candle and memories to cherish.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Indeed, the path of an entrepreneur is not without its hurdles.
In the world of business, change is a constant companion. Sometimes, however, it arrives unexpectedly and presents us with a series of daunting challenges. I’ve recently been faced with not just one but two significant transitions simultaneously. Losing a valued business partner and the necessity of finding a new location due to the sale of our current building.
It has indeed been a transformative period in my professional life. Losing my business partner was unexpected and challenging, as we had built a strong foundation together. It required me to reassess and readjust my plans, both personally and professionally. The departure was undoubtedly a loss, but it also opened up new possibilities and forced me to tap into my inner resilience.
It was crucial for me to allow myself to process the emotions that came with the separation. I surrounded myself with a support system of family and friends who provided comfort and encouragement. While it was challenging, I embraced the opportunity to reflect on my own strengths and aspirations, using this period of transition as a catalyst for personal growth.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Our move to a new location due to the sale of our building. This is an opportunity to reimagine our business and explore new horizons. We’ve embarked on an extensive search for a new location, considering factors such as accessibility, target market, and the potential for growth.
We are carefully planning the move for the new location. We want to ensure that every detail of our new space is perfected to create an unforgettable experience. As the construction nears its completion, we will reveal the date for the new location’s grand opening.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Building brand recognition and establishing a customer base, with fierce competition in the candle market, we’ve been able to carve out a niche and differentiate ourselves.
The ability to create a one-of-a-kind experience that enhances moments, celebrates special occasions, and becomes a part of cherished memories is truly rewarding. The joy and fulfillment I witness when people connect with my candles is an incredible motivator. Knowing that my creations bring comfort, serenity, and joy into people’s lives inspires me to keep pushing forward. The support and encouragement from my customers and the community fuels my determination and reaffirms that I’m on the right path.
