Check Out Justice Cole’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Justice Cole

Hi Justice, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Justice Cole is a couture fashion designer based in Dallas, Texas, specializing in bold, statement-making womenswear. Her journey began in Yazoo City, Mississippi, where a childhood passion for design first took root. However, despite her love for fashion, she initially resisted pursuing it as a career. Coming from a background without wealth, Justice was determined to build a better life for herself and believed financial stability could only come from a “practical” career path. This led her to college, where she changed majors multiple times, searching for a field that would guarantee financial success. But because her choices were motivated by money rather than passion, she struggled to stay engaged. Eventually, she received a letter in the mail notifying her that she was being placed on academic suspension due to her GPA falling too low. That moment shattered her—she had been trying so hard to follow the “right” path, yet it led her to what felt like failure. Falling into a deep depression, she questioned her worth and future, feeling lost in a system that didn’t align with who she truly was.

In the midst of what seemed like defeat, Justice found clarity. She realized she had spent years running from her true passion—fashion design—out of fear that it wouldn’t bring her the success she longed for. But if chasing money had led her to failure, why not take a chance on what she actually loved? With a renewed sense of purpose, she embraced her gift for design and launched her brand, Justice Cole, naming it after herself as a declaration of self-belief and authenticity. Built on resilience, reinvention, and purpose, Justice Cole is more than just a fashion label; it is a testament to the power of trusting your passion. Specializing in couture, statement pieces, and elevated streetwear, Justice’s designs are bold, intricate, and crafted to inspire confidence. Every garment is a wearable work of art, created to celebrate individuality and empower women to embrace their uniqueness. As a Black female-owned brand, Justice Cole stands for excellence, pushing the boundaries of fashion while honoring the strength of those who wear it.

Beyond creating custom designs, Justice launched On the Spot Alterations, a mobile tailoring service that brings expert alterations directly to clients. She understands that the perfect fit can transform how a person feels, and her mobile service ensures that every client receives top-tier alterations, whether it’s a quick fix or a complete transformation. Her dedication to quality and convenience has made her a trusted name in both custom design and alterations, allowing her to connect with a wide range of clients who value both convenience and efficiency. She also shares her gifts with the world and teaches 1 on 1 and group sewing classes.

Justice’s story is proof that what looks like failure can be the setup for a greater testimony. God took what felt like a dead end and turned it into a purpose-filled journey that not only changed her life but now inspires others. She wants everyone to know that they don’t have to choose between passion and success—true success comes when you align with the path meant for you. You can really have it all. Her first college may not have worked out but she still graduated college with two degrees and built a financially stable life as the owner of her own business while following her passion. Her ultimate vision is to own an atelier, dress more celebrities, and expand her brand into a global fashion empire. She also dreams of launching a manufacturing company to bring her designs to a larger audience, ensuring that her creations reach women everywhere. With relentless drive, deep faith, and an unwavering commitment to her craft, Justice has turned what once felt like an impossible dream into a thriving reality. Justice Cole is more than a brand—it’s a movement, proving that following your passion can lead to both creative fulfillment and financial success.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Finding my target market and truly understanding the business side of fashion was a journey in itself. In the beginning, I thought talent alone would be enough, but I quickly realized that knowing who I was designing for was just as important as what I was designing. I had to study my ideal clients, refine my brand messaging, and position myself in a way that attracted the right audience. Financially, it was tough—I was investing in my business when I barely had anything to invest. Every dollar I made went right back into materials, marketing, and improving my craft, even when it meant sacrificing my own comfort. But I knew that if I wanted to build something lasting, I had to be willing to take risks. Along the way, I met the right people—mentors, clients, and industry professionals—who saw my potential and helped propel me forward. Those connections, combined with my faith and relentless work ethic, played a huge role in turning my vision into a thriving business.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a 28-year-old fashion designer from Yazoo City, Mississippi, currently based in DFW, Texas. I specialize in couture womenswear and elevated streetwear, creating bold, statement-making pieces that are entirely handmade.

What I’m most proud of is building this amazing brand that people genuinely love and resonate with. It means everything to see my designs make women feel powerful, and seen. But more than that, I’m proud of never giving up on myself—no matter the obstacles, I’ve stayed committed to my vision and turned my passion into a thriving business.

What sets me apart is my bold design style, my fearless approach to fashion, and the heart I pour into every piece. I don’t just create clothes; I create art that tells a story. My work is a reflection of who I am—unapologetic, vibrant, and full of purpose. That passion, combined with my relentless drive, is what makes Justice Cole stand out in the world of fashion.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I believe risk-taking is essential for growth, especially as an entrepreneur and creative. Playing it safe never leads to greatness—sometimes, you have to bet on yourself even when there’s no guarantee of success. One of the biggest risks I ever took was moving out of state alone at 20 to build a life that, at the time, only existed in my head. I didn’t have a concrete plan, just a vision and faith that it would all work out.

It was one of the hardest yet most rewarding decisions I’ve ever made. I never questioned if it was the right decision, I knew. That risk forced me to grow in ways I never would have if I had stayed in my comfort zone. It taught me resilience, adaptability, and the power of believing in myself even when the path wasn’t clear.

Now, looking back, I see how necessary that leap of faith was. It set the foundation for everything I’ve built today. Taking risks doesn’t mean being reckless—it means trusting yourself enough to step into the unknown, knowing that even if things don’t go exactly as planned, you’ll figure it out. That’s the mindset that has shaped my journey, and it’s why I encourage others to take the leap toward the life they truly want.
