Check Out Michael Heathen & G. Champion’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Heathen & G. Champion. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Roughly 13 years ago G. Champ and Michael Heathen joined with 5 other artists to create G.L.O.A.T. Ent… Initially, we just wanted to create music and perform live. Over time, G.L.O.A.T. lost all but 3 of the originating members (Heathen, Champ, and iQ tha Chemist). Producer Othawordz Pro was added a few years ago and continues to work with the label. What we try to provide to ourselves and artists that we work with is the potential to perform on stages or on shows with touring artists rather than the all-too-common pay-to-play open mics. Michael Heathen also is a mixing and mastering engineer so recording tracks or albums for others is another service rendered. Both Othawordz Pro and iQ tha Chemist produce beats/tracks for any genre you can imagine. We have been blessed to have a resume that includes performing with some of the biggest legends in hip-hop, toured the country, and plan to do it again

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Smooth? No. Absolutely not. Other than the artist that have come and gone (all on good terms, might I add), like any passion you face roadblocks. Funding was incredibly difficult for the bulk of our existence and nearly everything made was deposited right back in. We took quite a few financial woes but it appears we have gotten out of that phase. The music industry, like all entertainment industries, is difficult to navigate. Plenty of false prophets millions of well-camouflaged red flags, and the negligence of many a promoter. Everyone seems to have something to offer but nothing to deliver.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
First and foremost, we are creatives. Our main dedication is to the creation of new music. Our art is very individualized and also original to our visions. We have built a reputation as having a top-notch stage presence and performance-oriented live show. Our energy is unrivaled as controlled chaos. Thanks to Jourdan Boyle and 2Twelve we have also been able to produce beautiful high-end and conceptualized music videos. We can be found on all streaming platforms under our individual names, as well as a few tracks under the G.L.O.A.T. Ent… conglomerate.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Luck is for those that work towards making things happen. If we sat at home hoping, the chances of making the universal connections that are needed fall pretty slim. On the contrary, those that do what is necessary, or even what is thought at necessary, have a much higher chance that Lady Luck will reach out. Lucky is what the lazy call a dedicated worker.
