Chisa D. , so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I walk a path, even during seasons that I may have appeared to be wondering. I find it absolutely intriguiung that once I realized the difference that I found the real wonder was in the unknown. The fact that Idont know what happens next is the definition of true power and freedom, and that truth does not negate the path or the exisgtance of it just because I may not see it. Walking a path often means that each step requires an existential level of faith.
The action of making a decision and sticking to it is the focus. The true victory in walking a path is in choosing it and knowing myself so deeply that no matter what decision I make that it is for my best highest good. Walking this path allows space for change, opportunities and trusting the process and being in the flow without fear. I stopped fighting battles out of habit and pride and started walking in flow. I learned that not every obstacle is meant to defeat me, but to teach me how to flow effortlessly.
Obstacles aren’t adversaries, they are partners that transform our thoughts and transform our lives from mediocrity to self-mastery. A path of self mastery has taught me to lose any persona projected onto me or learned ideas and to walk authentically in who I was always meant to be. Walking this path I realized achievements and goals naturally align with me and that I do not have to strive for them. This path systematically allows space for the inevitable, and the ability to be in a state of peace, and have a present experience of the process. I did lose some things while I chose to live my life this way. One of the heaviest things I lost was self doubt and the idea that my ideas and greatness needed to be validated.
The wonder is in the loss of the fear of losing while gaining the capacity to expect more without knowing when or where abundance is coming from. Some days my ego wins and I feel the need to sabotage an opportunity for fear of being exposed or feeling vulnerable. Its exciting, and frigtening at the same time.
I walk a path of the unknown self-mastery.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The part of me that needed control and order: I lived strategically, planning every outcome and leaving no room for growth or grace. Although the ability to plan is a valued tool, it limited me in some ways. This aligned with my having a fear of chaos. Instead, I decided to face confrontation head-on.
The old part of me that invested in the “potential in others rather than seeing individuals for who they were”. While my core desire was to protect and care for others, it sometimes led to codependence and martyrdom by focusing on what others could be instead of what they are.
The old me that cringed at experiencing “repeated cycles” and viewing “pitfalls as setbacks, and failure.” While I had an optimistic desire for happiness, I struggled with denial, fearing failure and being left out.
My “sense of lack or unworthiness” aligned with my core desire to connect and belong. That led to me feeling stuck, and I sometimes felt powerless in life’s challenges.
By doing the internal work and integrating these experiences, I gained power, perspective, and knowledge of myself. Obstacles are not my enemy they are strategic guideposts.
Embracing repeated cycles changed my life
From victim to empowered observer: Previously, I felt stuck in frustrating cycles, viewing myself as a victim of repeated pitfalls. By shifting my perspective, I transitioned from “Why is this happening to me?” to “What is this trying to teach me?”. This empowered me to observe and analyze the lessons in recurring patterns, which provided insights into my own limiting beliefs and behaviors.
From setback to self-mastery: Instead of seeing a cycle as a failure, I now view them as an opportunity to clarify an “old state of being and perspective”. This process of self-observation allows me to shed old fears, negative narratives, and unresolved emotions that were holding me back.
From striving to being present: My old way of thinking pushed me to constantly “strive” for a different result, which came from a place of fear and lack. By embracing the cyclical nature of life, I now find purpose in the present moment, rather than just chasing a future outcome.
From repeating history to rewriting my story: The acceptance of recurring patterns provided me with the chance to become aware of the underlying issues I needed to address. By doing the internal work and integrating what I have learned about myself, I have gained the power to consciously “rewrite” my story instead of just reliving it.
From unworthiness to a greater sense of purpose: By finding the lessons and opportunities for growth within these repetitions, I am constantly able to move past these feelings and replace them with a more fulfilling and purposeful trajectory.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
It is:
Thank you for being everything that you are. Thank you for all that you have accomplished for us. Thank you for the sacrifices you’ve made. Thank you for having the maturity and fortitude to encourage yourself and endure circumstances that should have slain us.
Thank you for your perseverance and resilience that carried us into uncharted territory and womanhood at a very young age. Thank you for believing in me and telling me that we would accomplish great things. Thank you for your kindness. Thank you for fighting for us, even when you weren’t certain you had what it took, you had the will.. You are a kind, resourceful, and courageous warrior.
I love you.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
The core belief I am deeply committed to, and actively working towards, is Self-Mastery. This isn’t a singular project with a definitive end date, but rather a lifelong journey of continuous improvement and becoming the “Highest & Best Possible Version of Self”.
This commitment drives my approach to both personal and professional growth, no matter the duration or challenges involved.
Components of Self-Mastery and My Commitment:
1. Focus & Faith:
My commitment to self-mastery begins with cultivating unwavering focus and faith in my abilities and the process of growth. This enables me to direct my energy effectively and maintain a positive outlook even in the face of obstacles.
2. Manifestation & Discipline:
I am committed to transforming my vision into reality through conscious manifestation and rigorous discipline. This involves setting clear goals, establishing consistent routines, and consistently taking action aligned with my long-term aspirations.
3. Brings Clarity & Abundance:
My pursuit of self-mastery is rooted in the belief that it ultimately brings clarity to my purpose and fosters an environment of abundance in all aspects of life. I strive to align my actions with my inner truth, leading to a more fulfilling and prosperous existence.
4. Confidence & Inner Truth:
Building confidence and acting from a place of inner truth are integral to my self-mastery journey. This means understanding my values, trusting my intuition, and expressing myself authentically in all interactions.
5. Capacity to Walk in Highest & Best Possible Version of Myelf:
The ultimate aim of this commitment is to continuously expand my capacity to walk in the highest and best possible version of myself. This involves pushing beyond limiting beliefs, embracing challenges as opportunities for growth, and consistently striving for excellence in character and performance.
6. All Things Are Relative to Alignment:
I firmly believe that all things are relative to alignment, emphasizing the importance of coherence between my thoughts, words, and actions. This principle guides my decision-making and ensures my efforts are harmonized towards my overarching goals.
7. Master Yourself, Master Game of Life:
This commitment culminates in the understanding that by striving to master myself, I can master the game of life. It’s about taking ownership of my journey, embracing personal responsibility, and actively shaping my experiences rather than passively reacting to them.
To sum it up
My unwavering commitment to Self-Mastery is a lifelong journey encompassing focus, faith, manifestation, discipline, and the pursuit of my highest potential, ultimately leading to clarity and abundance in life.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What will you regret not doing?
That’s a thoughtful question, and it encouraged me to quietly reflect.
I believe my biggest regret would stem from missed opportunities to connect more deeply with people, whether in my personal life or my professional network.
“Early in my career, there were instances where I was so focused on tasks and deliverables that I didn’t always invest the time to truly understand my colleagues’ perspectives or build stronger collaborative relationships. Similarly, in my personal life, prioritizing immediate demands sometimes led to neglecting meaningful interactions with friends and family. While I always strive for efficiency, I’ve come to realize that authentic connections are the bedrock of both personal fulfillment and professional success.
“This realization has driven me to be more intentional about fostering relationships, actively listening to others, and making time for those connections that truly matter. I’m actively working to ensure that I prioritize human connection and collaboration in all aspects of my life, turning this potential regret into a powerful catalyst for growth and engagement moving forward”.
I believe the greatest regret I might face stems from a sense of unfulfillment that arises from relentlessly chasing external desires, rather than allowing things to unfold naturally and receiving what is meant for me.
While achieving a goal through sheer pursuit might seem like success, if that pursuit comes from a place of forcing or struggling against the natural flow, the eventual attainment has sometimes felt hollow.
True contentment and lasting satisfaction has come from a state of alignment and confidence, where I trusted in perfect timing and allowed opportunities to come to me rather than desperately grasping for it.
Therefore, the regret would be realizing that the energy expended in chasing led to an empty victory, rather than a fulfilling reception.”
