Community Highlights: Meet Alyse Deanda-Zagada of Joli Fashion Society

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyse Deanda-Zagada.

Hi Alyse, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I was born in McAllen, Texas, and raised in Mission, Texas. After high school, I moved to San Antonio to attend college at St. Mary’s University. During my time in college, I was a signed actress and model, worked in PR, worked backstage in many local fashion shows, and manage social media pages for different groups and organizations in which I was involved. I focused on getting an extensive resume in fashion by fully immersing myself into the local Texas fashion scene. I graduated from college with a BA in Communications from StMU in 2019. After graduating, I got a job at Lone Star National Bank as their Marketing and Business Development Officer. During this time, I decided to start multiple small businesses such as The Blooming Social (@the.bloomingsocial), Wild Bloom Vintage (@wildbloomvintage), and my newest venture, Joli Fashion Society (@jolifashionsociety). I have major goals of growing the Texas fashion industry through building community, highlighting Texas fashion, and supporting local Texas designers, models, and fashion creatives. Since starting Joli Fashion Society, I have had a tremendous amount of support by the Texas fashion community. I am excited to grow and build community with all Texas fashion creatives that are just as eager as I am to put Texas on the map for beautiful fashion and designs.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Just like any new dream or venture in life there are, of course, a few bumps along the way. Some of the struggles were worrying about how people will accept Joli Fashion Society, what are the first steps to effectively portray the ultimate goal of JFS, and would the fashion industry I had worked in for over 10 years be supportive while seeing Joli Fashion Society’s vision clearly. Through all the struggles, I have continued to focus on staying in tune with the ever-changing fashion industry. The support of the Texas fashion industry will be crucial for the advancement of our fashion industry. There will be no obstacle or challenge too big for Joli Fashion Society if we are able to rely on and lean on each other in our Texas fashion industry. We deserve the recognition for the quality fashion, talent, and creatives that we have right here in Texas.

As you know, we’re big fans of Joli Fashion Society. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
Joli Fashion Society is the exclusive fellowship of the Texas fashion elite. JFS exists to bring unity to provide support to and foster growth and advancement of the Texas fashion community. We are set apart from other fashion organizations by focusing on growing each individual Texas city’s fashion community to improve the overall growth of the Texas fashion industry. We will not show favoritisms towards any Texas city, designer, or fashion creator. We refuse to have any negative voices in Joli Fashion Society since it would not foster the growth towards the recognition of Texas fashion nationwide. We are determined to enhance our community and bring forth value to the fashion industry as a whole. JFS is a multi-layered for-profit organization that has membership opportunities, fashion writers/bloggers dedicated blog, online forums, local city events, newsletters and we plan for much more. We are striving to promote Texas’ best in fashion to the world.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
A few surprising facts about me include a wide range of hobbies and interest. I am a signed model and actress with agents in New York, Louisiana, and Texas. I have a Digital Marketing Certification from the University of Texas McCombs School of Business, which I completed in the Spring 2022. I have a special place in my heart for volunteering and serving on the board for nonprofits and local community charities.
