Today we’d like to introduce you to Cesar Carlos Jr.
Hi Cesar, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
C & C TURF was established approximately 5 years ago – The idea to establish a synthetic grass/artificial turf installation company started with my father, Cesar Carlos Sr. It’s thanks to him I was able to take his vision and in turn create C & C TURF.
My father has been involved with the synthetic turf industry for over 20+ years. Working for a big commercial company that dealt mostly with sports fields, he was always working out of state. He then later transitioned into the residential market, working for a prominent company locally in Dallas. As time went on, given the quality of his work, there was an influx of inquiries for him to do many projects all around the DFW Metroplex – this is where the idea of creating a company began to brew.
My personal involvement with the synthetic grass/artificial turf industry started incredibly early on as a kid. During the weekends, I would accompany my father to his sites and see firsthand how sports fields were constructed from start to finish. I would always eyeball at the various drawings/blueprints he would bring home and see just how much work goes into completing these projects. As time went on, I developed a stronger interest in the industry and began researching. I would always find myself asking my father questions regarding the installation process, different material types, and overall scopes of projects – and surely enough, he would always have an answer for me. I should add that most, if not all my knowledge of the industry comes from my father – that and being fortunate to have been able to be out in the field and see everything firsthand.
One of our very first turf projects was in our old home. It took us a couple of weekends to get it done, but the result was astounding: a green front lawn all year long! – it quickly became the neighborhood’s charm, with neighbors passing by and admiring our work. My father and I saw this as an opportunity, and we decided to pursue it, which is then where C & C TURF was born. (The name comes from our names: Cesar & Cesar). Surely enough, we decided to begin tackling projects during the weekend, given that I was still in high school.
We gradually began making a name for ourselves in various neighborhoods all around Dallas, (around this time, I enrolled as a full-time student at The University of Texas at Dallas – here I was fortunate to learn how to properly manage and scale a business.) We’ve spent the last couple of years perfecting our craft and ensuring we provide all our homeowners & builders with a premium synthetic grass installation experience. Our success as a company can be traced back to all the homeowners that have supported us (and continue to do so by referring us), as well as all the individuals we have met along the way. It’s thanks to them that C & C TURF has been able to grow and continue to do so. It should also be noted that C & C TURF would not be where it is today without our dedicated team members – from our crew members to crew chiefs to office staff, everyone who is a part of the C & C TURF team has helped significantly in our growth. We are grateful to count on the continuous support of the community who have trusted us to help take their vision and turn it into a reality, and for that – we are forever grateful.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been quite a journey to say the least – There are many long hard-working days and many long sleepless nights behind our success. The biggest struggle I faced was being able to manage running a business while enrolled as a full-time college student at The University of Texas at Dallas. Pursuing a bachelor’s degree while trying to grow a business is no easy task; my biggest challenge was my course schedule, which would vary semester to semester.
At times, my course schedule would interfere with meetings with builders/homeowners, project walkarounds, etc. I would receive countless calls from potential clients while in class; my emails would be bombarded with inquires, text messages with different project addresses, etc. But lo and behold, I was able to effectively manage my time by batching similar tasks, staying organized, and creating timelines. While in college, my balance between life and work was manageable for me; there was enough time in the day for me to complete most of my tasks. But even then, from time to time, I would have work/school events overlap; in these instances, I would power through and get it done. Upon graduation, my focus shifted drastically – I was now able to put my full attention in growing C & C TURF. It’s been roughly 4 months now since I graduated – and the amount of work I have put into scaling our business has been tremendous, and we are already seeing results first-hand.
Our success as a company can be traced back to all the homeowners that have supported us (and continue to do so by referring us), as well as all the individuals we have encountered along the way who have in some way shape, or form contributed to the growth of C & C TURF. These individuals include Nikki and Nate from Synthetic Grass Warehouse – Chad from Synthetic Grass DFW – Sean from Synthetic Grass Pros – Jarrod from Superior Turf Supply – Tyler and Adam from Purchase Green – Saray, Roxy, and Cassandra from TurfHub – as well as Kimberly Buren & Tim Dvorak. Of course, the entire C & C TURF team, which thanks to their hard work and dedication has made C & C TURF a leader in the artificial turf/synthetic grass industry. It truly takes a team to make the dream work!
The two individuals who have supported me from day one and continue to do so are my parents; Cesar Carlos Sr & Adriana Carlos. They are the driving force behind my achievements. Their love, support, and sacrifices have helped me grow into the person I am today, and the lessons they have taught me are invaluable, and for that, I will forever be grateful.
We’ve been impressed with C & C TURF, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Their craft is displayed all over the DFW Metroplex, and I get ecstatic when I go out and see C & C TURF’s craft being praised and appreciated. C & TURF has many things planned, so keep an eye out on us!
What does success mean to you?
My definition of success comes in two parts, achieving goals and striving for more. To achieve goals, I believe one must have certain characteristics; these certain characteristics, in turn, help one to become successful.
One of the biggest characteristics needed to achieve goals is to be determined. There is an immense amount of hard work behind someone who is deemed successful. And in order to take the first step, one must set goals. The steps that follow in order to achieve a goal are not easy – but an individual who is determined will not be discouraged. An individual who is determined to succeed is willing to fail and, in turn, learn from said failure and eventually succeed. Taking accountability for themselves is also a huge factor in achieving goals. Those who take accountability try to find solutions to mistakes they may have made in the process and come up with ways to brush up and not make the same mistakes twice. The path to achieving goals will never be easy; one may feel pain and doubt along the journey, but one must have faith amongst themselves in knowing that they will reach their goals.
But that’s only part of being successful; continually striving to accomplish more goals is what truly makes someone successful. Having the drive to continue to gain knowledge and knowing that you continue to learn each and every single day is what sets apart those who are successful. Success isn’t something you can buy – and it’s surely not something that is owed to you. Success is something one must earn, and one will earn it with enough determination and drive.
