Community Highlights: Meet Cody Rackley of Haus Of Sabo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cody Rackley.

Hi Cody, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started my independent practice in 2017 in Austin, Texas after I graduated college, from the University of the Incarnated Word in San Antonio, Texas. The three years I would work on personal project and also work as an independent contractor with a number of remodelers and contractor in the greater Austin area. In the fall of 2020, I decided to move back home to East Texas with my fiancé and two dogs, where I would establish roots for Haus of Sabo. The past 6 years have been a trip but Dallas has treated our business great.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I would say the ride was bumpy but has smoothen out. In the 6 years, I had to set Haus of Sabo aside a number of times to take on different employment to stay afloat. From working for retailers selling high-end furniture to even taking on a second at department stores to just make a living will Haus of Sabo got off the ground.

My first big job was in 2018 when I got a lead for a full whole remodel. This would set off my career and business, are so I thought. Because of beginner mistakes, I hired the wrong people to do a specialty job. This would set be back and force me to take on side work and partner with a remodeler to develop their design department. I would do this for a year before take a job in Dallas was a large remodeling. I would be able to have a set income but be able to start gather clients in the meantime. After 10 months I would able to set away from my anchor job and focus on my true passion being a business owner and giving people their dream homes.

Now, I am running my own design firm with 2 employees and a number of great projects and clients.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
