Today we’d like to introduce you to Theresa Dickinson.
Hi Theresa, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Thank you so much for having me. I grew up in San Antonio, Texas and graduated with a degree in Education from UTSA. After teaching for two years in San Antonio I moved to Dallas and absolutely fell in love with this city. When I moved to Dallas I taught for twelve more years in kindergarten and first grade. Throughout teaching, I would receive such wonderful teacher appreciation presents. Year after year it meant so much the way students and their families would put such wonderful gifts together. I always thought, what a wonderful way to show someone you care. I decided to start a gift box business, using locally sourced items in each gift box. I love to make gifting convenient and special for my clients. There is so much love, encouragement, empathy, sympathy, and overall care being sent out to one another. I feel so gratefull to be a part of how our clients connect with their loved ones in good times, bad times, and everything in between. I take pride in every box I curate.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In starting any business, there are many learning opportunities. In creating A Box of Dallas, I have learned so much. Starting a new business is so exciting! It is a whole new world from teaching and I have enjoyed every second of it. I take every single moment in my business and reflect on how I can improve.
