Hi Lesslie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Hi, I’m Lesslie! At 23, I sold all my worldly possessions that wouldn’t fit into two pieces of luggage or my backpack and moved from México to the United States.
I started the MrCaro blog to inspire women to live unapologetically and travel more. With no plans to stop anytime soon, I’m always looking for my next adventure. Be it attempting to surf or blocking traffic in Paris to take the perfect photo with “the” outfit. I’ll try (almost) anything once!
Each blog post that I shared is intended to inspire, educate and entertain my audience in the healthiest way possible.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
When I first began the MrCaro blog in early 2018, I didn’t have the knowledge or experience I have now, but I had the passion for sharing my big dreams as an immigrant in the United States with everyone.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a Mexican copywriter and yoga instructor living in the United States. I consider myself passionate about breaking stereotypes, and my ultimate goal is to help others become resilient and find their true happiness.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I’m happy to see a significant shift after 2020. People started questioning what their priorities were and making wellness a routine. Adding on, innovative brands started to join the change by tackling systemic inequalities, and as we move into 2022, this seems to continue growing.
I think we’re in a significant era where together, we can break the norms by highlighting people or groups that may be under-or misrepresented.
