Conversations with P-wig Jones

Today we’d like to introduce you to P-wig Jones

Hi P-Wig, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hi, I’m P-Wig, and this is my story.

Growing up, music was my escape and passion. I was signed to a record label at just 16-years-old, which was a dream come true. However, with fame came pressures and temptations. My addictive personality led me down a dangerous path, and I misused legal and illegal substances. This reckless behavior almost cost me my life in a devastating car wreck that left me in a 4-day coma.

That wake-up call made me reevaluate my priorities. I dropped out of college after one semester at the University of North Texas to focus on my music and personal growth. I then joined All American Recording Group, which was a pivotal moment in my career.

Later, I was signed with Mike Jones’ ICE AGE ENTERTAINMENT, which opened doors to new opportunities. But it was my journey, struggles, and lessons learned that shaped me into the artist I am today.

Now, with my hit song “Really Living,” I’m traveling the country, sharing my story, and living a more purposeful life. My music reflects my experiences, and I’m committed to using my platform to inspire others to overcome their own struggles and live their truth.

That’s my story – a journey of ups and downs, but ultimately, one of redemption, growth, and Really Living.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
To be honest, it’s been a rocky road. My addictions and constant touring took a toll on my relationships. I’ve been married and divorced twice, and I’ve missed out on precious time with my loved ones. My child has had to grow up with a father who’s often away, and now with another on the way, I’m determined to be more present.

The struggles have been real – from the guilt of not being there for my family to the financial strain of pursuing music. I’ve had to take a minimum wage job to make ends meet, which can be humbling for an artist. But it’s a reminder that success isn’t just about the music; it’s about being responsible and providing for my loved ones.

The pressure to constantly produce and perform has also taken a toll on my mental health. I expect a lot from myself, and when things don’t go as planned, it can be tough to cope. But through it all, I’ve learned to be more patient, more present, and more grateful for the journey.

Despite the ups and downs, I wouldn’t change a thing. Every struggle has led me to where I am today – a wiser, more resilient artist with a deeper appreciation for life and a passion to share my story through music.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

What I’m most proud of:

I’m proud of my ability to overcome adversity and channel my energy into music that inspires others. My song “Really Living” has gained traction, and I’m humbled by the impact it’s had on listeners.

What sets me apart:

My honesty, vulnerability, and willingness to share my struggles set me apart. I’m unapologetically myself, and my music reflects that. I’m not afraid to tackle tough topics, and I’m committed to using my platform to spread hope and positivity.

My mission:

I aim to create music that not only entertains but also uplifts and empowers. I want my listeners to feel seen, heard, and inspired to overcome their own challenges. Through my work, I hope to leave a lasting impact on the music industry and make a difference in the lives of those who listen.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is my family and my personal well-being. After years of struggling with addiction and the pressures of the music industry, I’ve come to realize that true happiness and fulfillment come from within.

My family is my rock, and I’m grateful to have them in my life. Being a good husband, father, and son is what brings me the most joy. I’m committed to being present and supportive, and to creating a loving and stable environment for my loved ones.

Staying true to myself and avoiding the pressures of peers and the industry is crucial to my mental and emotional health. I’ve learned to surround myself with positive influences and to focus on my own journey, rather than comparing myself to others.

Why does this matter most to me? Because I’ve seen the devastating effects of prioritizing fame and fortune over family and well-being. I’ve lost friends and colleagues to the pressures of the industry, and I’ve struggled myself. Now, I know what’s truly important, and I’m committed to living a life that aligns with my values.
