Conversations with Sherita Flores

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sherita Flores.

Sherita, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m Sherita Flores a mother, author, podcast host, and property manager who turned deep personal pain into powerful purpose. I lost my mother at just two and a half years old and was raised by my grandmother. Decades later, I lost my father my hero in an unexpected and devastating way. That grief, along with a divorce and my son’s medical emergency, pushed me into one of the darkest seasons of my life.

But I refused to stay there.

Through faith, healing, and storytelling, I began writing again. I launched my podcast Breaking the Silence and my series Talk to Me Tuesday to create a safe space for others navigating grief, trauma, and transformation. I founded The Flores Collective, published my book Unwinged, and recently launched Little Blossoms Boutique a nonprofit project gifting dresses and confidence to little girls who’ve never felt seen.

Today, I use my voice to help others find theirs. My story is not just about what I’ve been through but about who I’ve become because of it.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not a smooth road—more like a winding path through loss, pain, and rebuilding. I lost both my parents my mother when I was just a toddler, and my father unexpectedly as an adult. That loss broke something in me. Around the same time, I went through a divorce and watched my son suffer a medical emergency triggered by emotional stress. I had to be strong for everyone else while falling apart inside.

I battled depression, financial instability, and the loneliness that often comes with being the “strong one.” There were moments I wanted to give up. But every obstacle gave birth to something deeper my book Unwinged, my healing platform Breaking the Silence, and the heart-led mission Little Blossoms Boutique. The road wasn’t smooth, but it shaped me into a woman with purpose, grace, and fire.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a multi-passionate creative and healer. I’m the founder of The Flores Collective, where I combine storytelling, community work, and emotional healing. I’m an author of the book Unwinged, the host of the podcast Breaking the Silence, and the visionary behind Little Blossoms Boutique, a project that helps little girls who’ve never felt beautiful see themselves in a new light.

What sets me apart is that everything I create is rooted in real, lived experience. I don’t speak from theory I speak from survival, healing, and divine restoration. I specialize in transforming brokenness into brilliance and creating platforms where stories that usually go untold can finally be heard.

I’m most proud of turning my pain into purpose. Whether I’m mentoring single mothers, helping a child feel special in a donated dress, or speaking to a crowd about grief and healing .I show up with heart, transparency, and grace.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was a mix of tender and tough. I was imaginative, deeply emotional, and wise beyond my years . My traits born from losing my mother at just two and a half years old. Raised by my grandmother in a small town, I clung to books, church, and creativity. I loved to sing, write, and escape into stories because they gave me a world where I felt safe and seen.
