Today we’d like to introduce you to Staci Martin.
Hi Staci, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was a classroom teacher for many years. I truly believed teaching was my mission field. I had always prayed and told the Lord when it was time for me to leave the classroom, He would need to close the door. When I turned 50, I clearly remember the Lord telling me a change was coming. I wasn’t sure what the change was but I knew change was on the horizon. About six months later, my husband told me to start praying about opening up Apricot Lane. We both prayed and felt that this is where the Lord was leading us. Everything lined up perfectly. I left the classroom in May of 2022 and opened the boutique in July 2022. The best part is I get to work with my daughter everyday.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. My degree was in education not business management. I’ve had to learn a lot and I’m still learning. Each day brings its own set of challenges, but I rely on the Lord to get me through.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I believe that Apricot Lane is a special place to shop. We love helping women find the perfect outfit for any occasion. All women are beautiful. We want everyone who walks through our door to feel accepted, loved, and important. I pray for this business and the women who shop with us. God is in charge and I’m following His lead. I believe that what sets us apart.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned on my journey is to keep my head up and keep pushing forward. Life will throw curve balls at you continually. I’ve learned to stay grounded in my faith, stay focused, and keep believing in better days. Each day has a challenge you’ll have to face. I pray a lot and try my best to give my cares and concerns to God. He is the only one who will see me through the rough times.
