Today we’d like to introduce you to Edren.
Hi Edren, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Well, it’s a bit of a journey, really. It all started back when I was a kid in band, playing the trombone. I had a taste of music theory back then, but life took me in different directions. Fast forward about 20 years, and I found myself itching to reconnect with that passion. So, I decided to dive back into music, relearning and expanding my knowledge of theory. Then, one day, I purchased FL Studio and thought, “Why not put this music theory to the test?” And that’s how my journey into lo-fi music began. It’s been a ride, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey hasn’t been without its challenges. Overcoming self-doubt has been a significant hurdle, as has the need to establish a new work-life balance following my recent marriage and transition to parenthood. Despite these obstacles, I remain committed to my passion for lo-fi music and am continually striving to navigate these challenges with resilience and determination.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in producing Lofi music with a chill-hop vibe. My approach revolves around creating original compositions that blend elements of music therapy with the unique style of Lofi that I’ve come to love. What sets me apart is my commitment to not only crafting captivating melodies but also weaving them into narratives that resonate deeply with my audience. I take great pride in using my art as a vehicle for connection, aiming to provide moments of relaxation, focus, and emotional resonance for listeners.
One aspect that distinguishes my work is my passion for music theory. It has equipped me with the necessary tools to consistently create and release music, allowing me to grow my catalog while maintaining a high level of quality. I believe in the power of storytelling and visual aesthetics to enhance the overall experience of my music, enriching the connection between my audience and my art. Ultimately, I’m most proud of the ability of my music to touch the lives of others and provide a soundtrack for moments of tranquility and introspection.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you, and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
The COVID-19 crisis has emphasized the significance of living every day fully, prioritizing self-care through exercise, hydration, and healthy eating, appreciating the outdoors, and expressing gratitude regularly.
