Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Bell. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Lindsay Bell learned early on about responsibility and leadership as the eldest of five girls she grew up babysitting. After graduating from college in Ohio, Lindsay landed her first job in NYC with the Radio City Rockettes (one BIG family). She most notably executed the production of the 75th Celebration Edition of the Radio City Spectacular Book and coordinated The Rockettes in The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade all while babysitting for a handful of families on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. After three years, the babysitting became more and more demanding, and that is when she saw the opportunity and need for the business. Lindsay officially founded Lucky Lil’ Darlings in 2009, which at the time placed only on-demand evening babysitters, it was later renamed Bell Family Company in 2014 placing all family care needs. In 2013, Lindsay lead the acquisition of NY Nanny Center, a local nanny agency, which merged with Bell Family. From 2015-2017, Lindsay served as partner to Hello Sitter, an on-demand babysitter app based in NYC, where her company sourced and assessed hundreds of the childcare providers that were referred by the app. Bell Family currently with thousands of fully-vetted nannies and sitters, continues to expand and serve as a leader in the family care space. For the last 15 years Lindsay has focused on pursuing her passion for complete, trusted family care, establishing an unmatched network of reliable family care providers, interacting with America’s finest families, and aligning herself with the best in family brands. Lindsay resides in Preston Hollow, is married, and has two young sons and a baby daughter.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Ha! No. I’ve never met a small business owner who said building their business was easy. Every week there seems to be new challenges. Owning your own business requires constant attention. It has basically been another child or few more children for me! At the beginning it was relentless, I was working 12+ hour days 7 days a week to get my business off the ground. Now, 13 years after I first opened up my LLC, it still requires a lot of love, new ideas, updating of processes, hiring of new people, creative marketing, the list goes on. You have to truly have a passion for your business to keep it going.

Bell Family is a women-run company with an established reputation for quality, excellence, and care. Each childcare provider has been carefully selected through our unique screening process, which includes a national background check, preliminary and face-to-face interview, personal reference checks, social media screening, and ongoing CPR and educational training.
My business has been built upon the referral, both on the family and childcare provider side. I started babysitting on the Upper East Side of New York, and one family lead to another family through word of mouth. I started to get a number of requests to babysit and couldn’t keep up with the demand, so I decided to enlist friends to help. I suppose I am most proud of building a small business from something as simple as being a great babysitter.
My business specializes in all family care placements; from a full-time nanny for an infant to a date-night sitter, from a companion for your aging parent to an afterschool nanny for your elementary-age children. We are based in NYC, Dallas, and Westchester County/Southern CT. We place full and part-time nannies anywhere in the U.S.
