Today we’d like to introduce you to Miczjhane Nelson
Hi Miczjhane, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m originally from the Bronx, New York, and in 2021, I married my husband (a Baltimore native). We moved to Texas in 2022 so he could take his career to the next level with a new position. At the time, our son was just one month old, and now, I’m a proud mom of two.
I’m a SCAD graduate with a BFA in Fashion Marketing and Management, and my love for fashion has always been a driving force in my life. MING HAUSE started during the pandemic and has taken on many forms. It began as a streetwear brand, with my parents and brothers helping me fulfill tons of orders right from our living room. Since moving to Texas, it has evolved into something that feels even more aligned—customized, 1-of-1 denim pieces and hair services. Through every shift, my passion for fashion, creativity, and self-expression has remained at the core of what I do.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As an entrepreneur, I’ve faced challenges like crisis management and not always having enough capital to sustain long-term consistency. Creativity has always come naturally to me and has been at the forefront of my journey, but the financial side—especially staying consistent in that area—has been one of my biggest hurdles. Through it all, I’ve learned to adapt, pivot, and keep pushing forward to build something truly aligned with my vision.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m not just a natural hair care artist—I’m also a designer. My passion for fashion and attention to detail shine through in the way I customize denim pieces for my clients, whether transforming pieces they bring me or sourcing new ones to create something truly one-of-a-kind.
That same energy flows into my hair services. When clients step into MING HAUSE, they’re stepping into an experience—warm, cozy, and intentionally curated. From the food and drinks to the music, every detail is designed to make them feel special. They don’t just leave with a new style; they leave feeling completely different, renewed, and elevated.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
If I could give advice to someone younger than me, it would be to stay in your own lane. Don’t compare yourself to others. Have tunnel vision for your goals and vision. It’s important to have influences, but don’t let those influences dictate your outcome. You can pull inspiration from so many things—nature, food, family, shows, fabrics—anything that speaks to you and fuels your creativity. The key is to stay true to your unique path.
