Hi Jaclyn, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always had a passion for parties! Either throwing a good party myself or helping someone plan theirs. I grew up in a large Mexican family where there always seemed to be a Quincenera, Wedding, Birthday or misc. Celebration happening every weekend. I learned from my dad they actually would pool money as a family to be able to rent out venues to host their large family gatherings because they wanted to be able to host everyone and not have to worry about space. I think growing up in that environment where parties were always happening definitely had an influence in my love of them! I started my balloon business as a side hustle from my day job as a Patent Agent at a law firm based out of Austin. I started by doing balloons for family and friends for free and as I got more confident in my abilities, I started charging people. I never did a big advertising push, I just let word spread slowly and believed my work would speak for itself. I am slowly expanding into party rentals (backdrops, props, etc.) and starting a YouTube channel to teach others how to do what I do!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Definitely not. I dove in headfirst with my strong belief in God and that as long as I am kind and put my faith in Him, that things will work out. I am a planner and try to plan for every possible scenario but sometimes things pop up that you DIDN’T plan for. I am proud of my ability to stay calm under pressure and to find solutions as quickly as possible. I take everything as a lesson learned. With balloons, sometimes weather can be an issue or balloons pop. I have been lucky enough to have clients that understand or have back-up plans in place in case of emergency. You can plan all you want, but something will always pop up. No pun intended.

Party Candy offers a wide variety of balloon products as well as backdrop rentals, party props and photo booth rental. Our main focus is balloon garlands, balloon walls and custom helium balloon arrangements. We love making everything as custom and unique to our clients as possible. We love having artistic freedom to create something amazing for our clients and value the trust they give us to provide balloon products for their most special occasions. We are proud of the quality and attention to detail as we understand the power of creating an atmosphere that enhances our client’s experience for their life celebrations. We also completely understand doing it up “for the gram,” so making our installs picture-worthy is our main focus as well!
