Exploring Life & Business with Alec Mack of Heisman & Mack Media Productions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alec Mack.

Hi Alec , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
As a student still in high school I was competing in powerlifting. After years of competing I had companies who wanted to sponsor me but I was told I needed a bigger social presence for them to consider me but they wanted to support me on my powerlifting journey as I was going to competing for a national title then soon after a world title. Making a deal with my parents we made the agreement if I graduated high school with a 4.0 GPA I would get a camera to support my powerlifting dreams that would allow me to get more sponsors. After graduating I was given a Sony a6400 camera and I went on to buy my own lens. At that time, I had just lost my prior serving job due to being mistreated. For about 4 month prior to graduating I met a national sale director named Lance Branch at an international supplement company. I would see him every Monday evening at the gym I worked out at. Days after I got my camera, I was given the opportunity to create a “cool post” about how much I loved the companies products in exchange for about 12 free products. I then later created a 30 second video that I had no idea how god was going to bless me through this opportunity. A couple days later I met another company owner who was looking for someone to create the content for their fitness clothing company, I told them was able to do it and would make a free video to see if they liked my work and we would do business together if they liked it. After finishing the first video for the supplement company I posted it and it reached the owner and I was calling into their HQ the very next week for what I didn’t know was going to be a job offer. The next day I was given the same call but by the other fitness clothing company and I was offered not only a job but to go with the company to New Orleans in two days. I took the opportunity to go and produce content for the company. Once I was back from New Orleans I went to the supplement companies HQ and was given a job opportunity to be another lead creator. I then had 2 jobs within 2 weeks of losing my prior job. I continued working with both companies while still powerlifting and went to nationals and won first place a national title. Working for the 2 companies for some time I was approached by the supplement owner to take over the lead production for their commercial, ads, promos, and campaign videos. Creating higher end videos for the company led to more and more opportunities from other companies as my name began to spread in the industry. Within a couple years later I left the companies with no job once again but was shortly called again from the prior supplement company owner and was given a job at another international supplement company based out of Liverpool UK who was making a new brand in the United States to market to Americans. At this time I had picked up film as I wanted bigger and better productions, from that point on it was a snowball effect with work and picked up more film gigs and commercial productions. I was then running my own business with multiple team members and through film I had met my business partner who gave me a job for us to work on together and build a relationship. We had instantly clicked since we worked together and began working together weekly. I have always wanted a production company based around high-end productions for product based companies and I had found the person how not only wanted the same but also had skin in the game. Praying for months on end I felt called by god to create a new company with him and was even given a name by god for the business (Heisman- it translates to gift of God). Since we have started the new business in January 2025 I couldn’t believe what was happening before we could get our papers filed through the state or even a website public. God has brought my work to a new level I wouldn’t be able to do on my own even if I tried. I can’t disclose some of the projects right now but we are already becoming a 7 figure company with potential plans to break ground soon. GOD IS GOOD! Currently I still have the two production companies and work as a Creative Director as well as the companies Director of Photography. I still freelance film gigs and work mainly as a DP and steadicam operator with also doing editing and colorist work on both commercials and films. Ever since I started my first business I began putting all my money back into the business or in equipment which has allowed me to own multiple cameras as well as buying a steadicam.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been smooth at all. If anyone asks owning a business is not for the weak, business it competitive and hard. Some of the struggles have been finding the right people who actually want to make a movement for themselves in the industry but also truly work and think like a business owner. Mistakes are always learned overtime and I’m still learning to this day but staying strong in faith for what god is doing is a struggle at times as well. Another struggle that comes with owning a business is you have to buckle down and be ready for any and everything especially dry seasons.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Heisman & Mack Media Productions ?
Heisman is a high-end production company that focusses on commercial, promos, ads, and campaigns. We develop content for companies that first off will benefit the company and bring eyes or help people remember “that video”. Right now what sets is apart is the ability to help companies market to Americans that aren’t based here or fully understand the marketing needed for the American culture. After working for many international companies as well as my business partner we have experienced how they operate in Eurasia, North & South America, and Australia. This knowledge combined has helped us smack the nail on the head with creating videos that will help the company in marketing in the designated region. Im proud of the relationship I have with my business partner and what a blessing it has been to be able to work together. Id like people to know this is all by the glory of God and not from what I’ve done. (John 3:21)

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love how fast the industry for film is growing her and the opportunities that are coming to my home town and what a great time it is to be in this state. What I hate the most is how much city there is, I like more rural areas but I can’t be too upset about it because it helps me in my career.
